Question about 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

I took my 2002 Town and Country Limited Edition to the dealer 3 times do to mechanical issues in which they said the problem was a miss fire of the coils and the cam shaft censor not working as well as my wire and plugs being changed and now I'm told that the computer was the reason but they made all this changes already...could the computer have been the issue all along and if so was it necessary to change all the other parts, since they could of been good still..

Thats the problem with computer controlled systems,it gives you the components that COULD be wrong first,so you change those, then something else comes up as being wrong,so you fix that, after youve done all that, the error shows up as the ecm(electronic control unit).....i suppose we could start with the most expensive item, then work back.(that would be daft)
luckily these things dont go wrong that often,(if you were doing the job yourself, and you bought all the parts needed, would they take back the parts you fitted to refund..?..)

What is the average labor cost to replace a master cylinder on 2005 town & country

It depends where you live. Mechanics charge between $45-$125 an hour plus parts. Do a search on line for the labor time needed to replace a master cylinder. Mechanics usually look this up and calculate their hourly rate this way. Private mechanics will be cheaper than dealers mechanics.

2003 chrysler town and country limited 3.8litre where is the transmis 2003 Chrysler Town and Country limited recalls 2003 Chrysler Town and Country limited 3.8litre code p1776 how can I fix

It is not a do it yourself fix.

This is an automatic transmission issue which may involve replacing the valve body and solenoid pack and affects transmissions fitted to various Chrylser models. It could also be a symptom of more serious transmission problems and requires proper investigation and diagnosis.

On some models there was a Technical Service Bulletin issued to dealers on this problem .

My sisters 01 town&country engine light comes on auto store says #5 miss fire so changed all plugs they looked good has new wires nd since only one cylinder miss fire auto store says its mostlikely not...

An auto parts store does not give out advise

They are parts counter sales people-- not mechanics

Spark plugs seldom fail in your lifetime, so you need to
check for vacuum leaks at O2 Sensors,Exhaust leaks,Vacuum leaks
in inlet ducting ,pcv vacuum leaks, egr system issues

Check & listen to hear if injector all click & have same resistance

An OBD Codes for a cylinder doesn't have to be correct

You have mechanical integrity also

You don't have the tools to test as needed I don't suspect
or you could check cyl contribution, fuel trim, fuel press, cyl misfire
counts,O2 switching times,etc

Code P0456 on 2003 Town & Country

Below are the possible causes for your engine light and error code:

Possible Causes:
  • EVAP fuel tank or canister vapor hoses leaking or damaged
  • EVAP system component leaking, fuel cap loose or missing
  • Leak detection pump damaged or leaking

The fuel cap is probably the most common cause of this problem. It's considered part of the emission system and if faulty or not place on the filler tube correctly, it will throw an error. Best of luck with your engine light issue. Take care!

2002 chrysler mini van front end noisy .when you hit a bump.what

I had the same problem with my 2002 Town and Country Limited. I took it to the mechanic and had the sway bar links and ball joints replaced and still had the same clunking noise when going over bumps at low speeds. The van sounded great on the highway, but country roads were horrible. I was about to replace the struts and pay another 700 dollars when i read somewhere that the sway bar bushings could wear and cause the noise. I took it to the mechanic and he said absolutely not it would be a waste of money. Being the stubborn guy I am, I went to NAPA and bought the two bushings for 12 dollars and replaced them myself in an hour. I took the van for a test ride and the noise is completely gone. Please ignore your mechanic and replace the bushings ASAP! Pretty cheap try even if it doesn't work.
