SOURCE: 2000 mazda bogging in all gears especially in 1st and 2nd gears ?

Judging from what i know, the timing on the engine is probably a bit off, and i remember reading the exact same problem on another web site and that is also what they said. So just check the timing on the engine or have it checked by a mechanic if you don't know how to do it.

SOURCE: check engine light came on and car is jerking and acts funny in low gears

could be the iac valve, idle air control valve.
at the beginning check for air leaks, a scanner will be enough for to know the reason,

SOURCE: accelerator needs pumping 3 times to start when

Does the engine have a tendency to stop when idling especially when you engage the power steering, brake or engage drive? If so this is classic IAC Idle Air Control valve trouble. The inlet and out let ports within the throttle body wall along with the the IAC could do with a real clean. Simply spray into the port opening some carb cleaner and leave to work for about five minutes. Clean out the gunky mess with a cloth. Wait 15 minutes for the cleaner residue to evaporate and restart your engine, you should notice an immediate difference

SOURCE: I have a Pajero Junior but haven't seen before the

Pajero Jnr auto has a three speed box. Like me, I imagine that you think it revs too high in top gear. I believe there is an overdrive available, but I am still looking. Mine revs at about 4000 at 60mph.

Might be just a shifting solenoid. Check those before replacing your gears solenoids should only be 27-47 $ at your local AutoZone

You may need a tune up . When was the last time you changed plug wires and had a decent tune up that will cause a vehicle to jerk when reaching higher gears the more strain on the engine the more it will jerk!!!

best advice is dont go 40mph in 5th gear... if you are going up a hill at 40mph in 5th gear i have no doubt that it is jerking, your putting too much stress on the engine. shift up to 4th or 3rd you will be fine. 5th gear is an overdrive gear. 55+mph
