Radio will not come on. Which wires supply power to Toyota Highlander Radio ( Not the speakers.) and what color are they?

fuses need to be tested, if the LOOK good, they can be bad
turn key on
all fuses, 12vdc on both side,s this is 100% ACCURATE WAY to test in a live circuit.

cars come with up to radio options and 1000s more after market.
if stock
alldata.com has this page. radio schematic.

your fuse is blown,
hair line cracks are impossilbe to see, unless 10years old.or?
Xray man. ( Xmen?)_
learn to use a voltmeter and save tons of time and hair pulls.

with radio on, key on, only 2 wire read, 12v,
memory
power
if the power wire is dead the fuse is blown.
newer cars use the standard
http://knowledge.sonicelectronix.com/car-audio-and-video/accessories-and-installation/wiring-harness-color-standards/

red wire aftermarket
oem use what they feel.
buy the radio adaptor at walfart, and see pin that has power
or alldata.com,log in read

I got a 98 Toyota 4 runner, trying to install a after market radio. I cannot find the right wiring harness anywhere anyone got any suggestion

snowking 580,
i just installed an aftermarket stereo and got my harness from Best Buy. Get the harness with 2 connectors. you will have to remove the factory amp behind the stereo and use those connectors. my issue is that after i did the install, my dash lights dont work. what i dont understand was there were 2 antenna looking cables and stereos only use one. hope this helps and if you have the same problem let me know how to fix it.

Wiring harness for a 1997 toyota 4 runner

Try your local Autozone or Advance Auto Parts, it usually is sold there and it would say on the plastic or label for what year to what year is that fitment on it but to be honest there was one time that I bought one that didn't fit the car I was installing a radio hope so is not your case that its electric system has not been modified .....

Good Luck!

You should NOT need premium fuel in your 4Runner. The engine is designed to run best on 89 octane. I believe that you have either bad plugs and wires, or a timing belt that is in the beginnings of stretching; either of those items will duplicate your condition.

you can get something called a wiring harness from Walmart (or any place that sells car audio equipment). you plug it into the factory connection that would normally go to the back of the radio, and it has the wires labeled and color coded with what goes where. most times all you would need to do is match up the colors from the harness to the new radio you're trying to install. it makes it really easy to install after market radios, which im assuming you're trying to do.
