I have a slight amount of oil in my radiator, I had this years ago and my dealer fixed it and said it was something small. Anyone know what it maybe or had the same experience. Thanks

This is a concern that requires immediate attention. Oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil is an indication that the integrity of the engine has been compromised and a passage has developed between the oil and coolant.

Installed in some radiators is a transmission coil cooler that is connected usually at the bottom of the radiator by two metal tubes. A failure internally of the radiator could breach the separation.

Head gaskets that have coolant pass through openings can also be a failure allowing the liquids to mix.

Look for coolant in the engine oil.
Check for oil level overfull

Look for steam from exhaust

Hope this helps.

Could be a faulty thermostat, low coolant, or a faulty blend door under the dash.

White exhaust smoke from a gasoline engine usually means coolant leaking into the engine block.

Need to put engine coolant in a 1999 Chrysler 300m. The reservoir says it takes a special kind of coolant. What kind? Can I use Prestone 50/50

whar steps do I take after draing the coolant from the radiator. I have a 1999 chysler 300m. Should the engine be running while replacing the coolant. This car does not have a radiator cap to remove. Do I just add the coolant in the resivor while the engine is running?

What kind of coolant should I put in a 1996 Chevy Cavalier

Notice: When adding coolant, use DEX-COOL® coolant. If silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner-at 50 000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.

I just bought a 1992 honda prelude, what kind of coolant do i use

50/50 ratio of regular Anti-freeze. Prestone is pretty popular. also consider getting your coolant flushed and filled instead....chances are it hasn't been done anytime before you bought it. it will prevent headaches and save your engine as well. One over heat situation and its likely your engine will be turned into garbage.Heat kills engines.

Coolant level

The sensor that measures the water level is rusted if you take it out and clean it. The problem should be solved.
