Question about 1998 Chrysler Concorde

1 Answer

Car wont start.

Hi, Last Saturday my 98 Concorde developed some problem. The car was running but the AC and radio would not turn on and my windows would not roll down. I then noticed that on the dash the ABS, Airbag, Oil and TRAC ON lights were on. The car though was running just fine. Later that evening and for five days the car has been running good no lights showing and everything in good order. Yesterday the same problem came up where I had all the above lights and windows not rolling down but by the time I drove home the car was fine again. Now this Friday morning the wife took the car to work and all was fine but when it was time to get off work the car would not even start, wouldn't crank at all and the alarm just kept going off ata any small thing ...touch the car the alarm goes off, close the door the alarm goes off..Has anybody come acrose this particular problem any and all help are most welcomed.

I'm having exactly the same problem you described. Not wanting to start, windows not working, ac not working, all happening randomly. I would like to know did the BCM fix your problems?

    Thanks

I work at a car lot and have experienced alot of numerous electrical problems with this group of Chrysler's.(Intepid, 300m, LHS, Concorde) I hate to say but usually a BCM has fixed my problems. Regarding the alarm i would look into the switch on the back side of the lock cylinder it was a very common problem in the mid 90's era Chryslers, but all in all sounds almost like a BCM. (Body Contol Module) New they are salty but call the dealer and give them the last eight of the vin and tell them you need the ID number for the bcm they should give it to you then browse your local junk yards. GOOD LUCK!

You may have a faulty BCM (body control module) it is what turns on all the accessories when you press the switches. I don't know of any other part that could cause all of these systems to stop working. I assume you have checked all the related fuses, both in the car and under the hood.

No. The 2.7 is noted for having the timing belt break. It will roll over but not start. Must replace timing belt.

I had my oil changed last Saturday and the car didn't have oil in tuesday u put 2 quarts in and saturday no oil what's going on?

Hi, obviously you have a major oil leak, if it was'nt leaking before the oil change, I would say the oil pan bolt wasnt tightened right or they stripped it out, or the oil filter isnt tight or they left old gasket/o-ring on the oil filter mount causing the leak. I would take it back to where you got the oil changed and demand they fix the issue (free of course)....Mike

Car alarm preventing car from starting

1999 CONCORDE: check the battery terminals probably they are not tight enough...something like that happened to me just the lights turned on and the car seemed to be dead, the battery is still ok since then. I just needed to buy new terminals.
