2009 Hyundai Sonata code p0449 comes on .

From what I see is that you have the code already so you have some idea of what's wrong. You can check you tank vent on your fuel tank and also change your fuel filter it also will cause the same code to come on. Depending on any filters to be replaced it should not coast no more then $40. I guess , it will also depend on shop rate for repairs . I am surprised they will not take your code. Hyundai is pretty good on repairs. If the shop you took it to will not work with you I think I would go to another shop . My Daughter has Hyundai for many years and has no problems with them in fact she will not buy any thing else .

I have a1988 e150 ford van with duel tanks the mech said I have to drop both tanks to fix the 6 port valve the rear tank was pushing gas to the front tank and causeing it to leak out the spout he said it...

If he is correct then it sounds like you just switch parts. Call some Salvage yards and ask about who removes the tanks from their cars.

I believe it is a common practice to remove tanks before the cars are pulled into the Salvage lot. You can probably get the parts you need from them and they may fix it for you for less than $1000. You could at least see where all this stuff is mounted how it comes apart.

The tank straps may need to be replaced. Also try Radiator shops. Sometimes they repair tank leaks and can do the job you want with dropping the tank and switching the parts.

Contaminated fuel tank

How could the pump failure contaminate the injectors when the fuel filter will catch all debris. Sounds like someone is trying to take you for a ride! Shop around for a honest repair shop, there out there! Have the fuel pump and fuel filter changed and you should be fine.I hate when shops try taking advantage of customers.
Good Luck hope things work out.

Cost to repairs 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8

Fuel pumps can cost up to $200. And it is more than likely in the gas tank. They will have to drop the tank to fix it. I payed $140 in labor on my 91 buick.

I'm not promoting this website but it's easy to navigate and will give you an idea on price of parts.

The main brake line to the rear wheels broke this morning and all the fluid leaked out. I need to know the cost of a new line and how hard it is to put in.

Hello bbucknell: My name is Roger and I will answer for you. The line itself is not all that hard to replace. But the cost is hard to say, The reason why is it depends a lot on where you live and what the shop rates are for labor. There are shops that will make up a new line and splice the new one in. This requires the tools to make up a double flare in the line where it was cut. They may decide to replace the whole line which might require the removal of the fuel tank to gain access to the line. Most of the time it can be fixed for a $100.00 or less. It just depends on who does the work. I hope this helps please rate the answer. This way I know it was helpful. Thank You for using Fix Ya. The gas guage does not work on my '97 S10 pickup (it shows about 3/4 tank.) Is this something I can fix myself ? If so, what parts do I need and what will it cost, approx? If NOT, how much will it cost to...

The level sensor in the tank has gone bad. You can buy a fuel sending unit for about $100 (you used to have to replaced the whole tanks for hundreds of dollars, but they had so many issues they started selling the sensors on their own).

You can fix it on your own, but you're going to want the tank to be pretty much empty before hand.

Here is an example of replacing one on a S-10 blazer. Should be similar for your truck:

My fuel level indicator gauge doesn't show the accurate fuel level. How much would it cost to fix this? I fill the tank up and it works pretty well until 1/2 tank, then I don't know how much fuel I have....

What this sounds like is the sending unit in the tank needs to be replaced. Call the dealerships around your area to get an idea on price. I think the gas tank has to come down.

What is the usual cutomary fee to fix the fuel pump and replace the filter for parts and labor

Your looking around $650.00 to $800.00. It all depends on the amount of time and any other complications like corroded fuel lines that may need to be replaced also. The cost of the fuel pump will also be a factor, best thing to do is call around and find a gas tank shop that specializes on gas tank replacement. There price would be the best, since that is what they specialize in. Good luck and hope this helps.

Code P1457 (99 acura tl)

Nothing will happen. The code is for the prevention of fuel vapors getting out of you tank and into the air damaging the enviroment. You need a quality repair shop check the gas cap and perform a smoke test on the evap system. Basically it is a pump that fill your tank and lines with smoke to find where it is leaking. Expensive equiptment, but most good shops have it. Code be as little as a hose, $100 with the test, to the charcoal canister replacement. $600
