Make sure if you have any spark coming from ignition coil if not try by replacing the ignition module.
also if you getting not fuel to the engine look for the inertia switch, this switch wil disable the fuel pump ic case of accident or impact and most of times if on the passenger side of cab close to rt kick panel

Truck dies when lights turned on, radio goes off when brakes applied

Best help I can give is the site for chassis diagrams. They are free when you register your truck and have fusebox layouts too. Maybe you can see something common to all problems stemming from 1 connection somewhere. Good Luck

My truck started just fine and suddenly it wont. It doesn't turn over but makes a single loud click around the starter area. all dash lights work fine so I know it is not the battery.

Good chance that your start has got to the end of it's life and needs to be replaced. After so many starts the brushes in the starter wear out and the electrical connection from the brush to the armature no longer have the ability to carry the amp to turn the starter gear. Check the wire connections to the starter first and try giving the starter a tap with a hammer and see if that would help get it to work. A few light tap may get you a few more start before you have to replace it. Good luck and hope your get your truck running 100% again soon.

The truck will turn over but never start

mine did this once. inside the truck by passenger door is a small plastic cover. it pops right off. there is a button that resets your fuel pump. might be why your truck wont turn over. my truck is designed to have fuel pump shut off if in a accident or some kind of sudden jolt, in my case from a wild night of offroading. if this is your case, simply pushing the button will reset it. plastic cover is down by passengers right leg.

My 99 GMC sonoma wont start..

ok... there are a couple of things you can do. i must have miss typed on the cap, rotor . in the back of the motor where the plug wires conect that is the cap that is bolted to the distributor with two torques bits that i believe are t15 in size. there may lie your problem. the posts inside are made of aluminum and they get coroded and dont alow the proper spark. the other commen problem is the exhaust the catalitic converter becomes pluged up. something you can try is remove one of the oxigen sensors and try to start it up if it runs the cat needs replaced. the o2 sensor is a 7/8 nut to remove it. give it a try
