Similar problem with my Lanos 1997 1.6 valve. It starts from cold fine but after around 10 min when the car gets to normal temperature the engine cuts out. I can only restart it after a few hrs but again the same fault cuts out the engine when the temperature rises. I have been told that it needs to go into the garage for a diagnostics check hich can be expensive so lets hope an answer can be found soon on this post

I have the same problem as above. I've re-built the motor, changed all the belts, O2 sensor, thermostat etc etc and the problem still persists!

Starts great, lasts 5 mins, runs ruff, then stalls. Won't restart for 30mins.

Driving me nuts instead of up the street!!!

Its because that the engine is very cold, try to worm it up more time before you start driving.

I have a 98 z24 cavalier auto with the 2.4 I can get it to start then I stalls out a couple seconds later I have done the passlock bypass the guy I got it from took the battery out a it was running great...

Unhook your battery again for about 15 minutes. After you re hook it up, let car sit with the key in the on position, but not running. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, and then turn key off, and start it. It may run rough for a few minutes as the sensors and systems are all resetting. If you try running it right away, or cold, it can confuse the regen process

Pickup runs fine when cold 5 minutes later spits and sputters and dies wait a minute starts up runs good for 30 seconds. then dies again

A common problem with Ford products built in the 1980s is the ignition module mounted on the distributor.
You will need to figure out if it is a fuel problem or ignition problem to proceed.

97 lumina, 3.1. Starts runs smooth, drive for 30

I just recently have been fighting the same problem with the same make/model/year vehicle. For myself, I would drive off and on through the day and it would run fine. Then suddenly after a start it would run rough and die. I would have to wait 20 to 60 mins before it would start again. I had it checked and fuel pump was only putting out around 19 psi. It should be around 41 psi. Had fuel pump replaced and no more problems. Furthermore, now it runs so much better. It's funny how over time I didn't notice how the performance was slowly degrading. Unfortunaley fuel pumps for this car run around $300.

Car stalling out and bot starting after being driven for awhile.

mcdevito75 Here, It"s possible the ignition Module is going bad, no way to test and if so, one day the car will not start at all.----------It can also be a vapor loc, wher the fuel is evaporating before it reaches the cylinders. Best Bet, have your local shop check both these items.

Suburban stalls while driving after running for 15-30 minutes. After letting it sit for 5-10 min it runs fine for another 5-10 minutes, then starts doing it all over again.

a bad crank sensor can cause this. shuts off while going down road, and will start about 10 min, later with no problems runs fine until it quits again. hope this helps,
