SOURCE: loud exhaust type noise in rain

HI
I had a trooper that did the same thing (it had a GM motor). I discovered that when water hit the exhaust pipe in the front of the vehicle it warped and came loose from the exhaust manifold. When it dried off it warped back and made full contact with the exhaust manifold and was quiet again until the next puddle. It kept getting worse. The actual problem was that the clamp that held the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold was cracked. You needed to look very close to see the crack. Once I had the clamp replaced the problem was gone. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 93 buick park ave Ultra. replacing water pump

Yes. Put a jack under the motor and remove 3 bolts from side of engine and the long center pivot bolt in mount and the 2 bolts that go top down into the frame and loosen the 2 bolts below mount. Jack up the motor until you can separate the mount, leaving the engine side in and removing the frame side. The engine side can be moved out of the way without completely removing.

The front motor mount has gone on our 2006 Buick Lucerne, also their is a bar on the right side of motor at the top . It is attached to the motor and goes back by firewall.is this a motor mount as we

Anything attaching a moter to the body "should be a moter mount" and have a rubber dampener for vibrations. As for replacement It is usualy done by jacking up under the moter with a floor jack and a good size block of wood to distribute the weight to a larger area. Once it is supported you can release the bolts and slip out the old mount to replace it. Hope this helps.
