While using the window? The motor is probably going bad. There is a wire in the motor which probably has a worn spot on it which is getting worse everytime you use it.

NO , But it starts right after you start the engine and continues on until you shut the engine and then also open the drivers door !

Our 2001 Mazda MPV doors are not locking. Before, we were able to lock all doors just by locking manually locking from the inside on the driver side and using the remote keyless entry. Now, when we try...

The clicking you hear is the vehicle asking for the program sequence to reprogram the locking system. Apparently something threw it out of sequence, ( a battery change , jumpstart, voltage spike , etc). The programming sequence that mazda uses is really kinda crazy. I was able to locate the sequence to try. If it does not work have the dealership flash the pcm, (another word for reprogram the powertrain control module). Here is the sequence:
1) Get in MPV with ignition key, and all fobs for the vehicle.
2) Close all doors and remove ignition key if it is in ignition.
3) Open driver's door
Note: Steps 4 and 5 must be completed in under thirty seconds.
4) Repeat the following three times
a) Insert ignition key
b)Turn ignition switch to on and then to lock
c) Remove ignition key
5) Repeat the following three times
a) Close driver's door
b) Open driver's door
Locks should all lock and then unlock within a couple of seconds--you'll hear the clicking sound
6) Press any button two times within five seconds on fob being programmed.
Locks should again lock and unlock
7) Repeat step 6 for all other fobs being programmed. When done with last fob, wait a few seconds and then you should be done with the reprogramming. Each fob should now work for this vehicle.

How do you enable a range rover engine when key battery is flat

There is a sequence of left and right turns of the key in the driver's door that will reset your bECM (Rovers brain) if the following have been tried.
1. Replace batteries in remote and 're-sync by depressing lock button on remote while physically turning and locking the door. Don't release button until locked and key removed. Repeat for unlock button.
2. Disconnect negative/earth cable from battery. While disconnected open driver's door, turn ignition to position 2, return to battery leaving driver's door open and reconnect the negative cable. Proceed to ignition. Turn off completely. Close all doors and hood and attempt starting.
Should both of these methods fail, run a search here on fixya for "engine disabled Range Rover P38" This will take you to step by step instructions on resetting the bECM which I opened this post with. It has been covered many times here, including by myself, no reason to post it again.
Good Luck!

Central locking problem. all doors except the passenger door at rear behind driver unlock this one is permantly locked any ideas

Put your ear close to the door and activate the lock/unlock. If you hear click click there is a loose/disconected lever which is moving without activating the lock. If you hear nothing something is stuck or dead. Open door panel and clean system then check again. Might need replacing the unit in the door.

My 323i was stored for 2 years. I am now getting it road ready and the passenger front, and both back doors wil not unlock. can you help?

Hi, try this as it may or may not apply to your model.Get in, open and close the drivers door, put key in ignition turn 2 clicks and take back out again, within 5 seconds, hold the 'lock' button in the middle of the key and press the 'unlock' button 3 times, then let go. Quickly repeat the lock and unlock button sequence on the spare key. All doors should lock and then unlock when it has worked.

The rear air ride wont go up. 02 navi.

There is a diagnostic plug for the Airride. You might find a scanner at Autozone or Oreillys. They will scan for free if they have a compatible plug.

You have done a good job in trying to track the problem. But the ride height sensors and the angle of your parking area can affect when the parts will work.

The door jam switches also put the Airride into sequence. You may have noticed how the car waits until everyone is out before deflating. So not hearing the airflow while you hear the rear solenoids "clicking"
may mean the door jam switches are preventing the pumping.

This is one of those things that a diagnostic tester can find. This is also why each door jam switch costs over $10 and have 3 wires instead of 1 grounding wire.

Do not put it back down.

2002 Jahuar xk8 -convertible- Driver's window does not retract back to close position after door closes

If you disconnect the battery you must reprogram both windows by holding the button down until you hear it chime takes about 5 or so seconds. Repeat for the other window and this should solve the problem. This information should be in your owners manual, it is in mine
