Hi you can Use the center button of the DIC and scroll through until you get to the oil life remaining screen. Then push and hold the checkmark button until it resets to 100%. 2007 May not always reset the first time. Repeat the procedure until it resets-this may take several tries. There is not a fix to correct this glitch. 08-09 work the first try every time. Also I do not recommend following the percentage it simply runs the oil too long in the engine and will lead to sludge. hope this helps

I would like to know how to reset the change oil soon light on a 1999 Buick regal 3.8

It is located in the glove box area, weird place to put it. Find the hole big enough to fit a pencil. Use a pencil or similar object through hole to push the button for 3 seconds and this will restart your oil life meter. I learned many different methods for different vehicles to reset the oil life when I use to work at a shop where we changed oil.

Reset oil change milage

GM OIL LIFE SYSTEM - RESETTING
The engine oil life monitor will indicate when to change the engine oil - usually between 5 000 km (3,000 miles) and 16 000 km (10,000 miles) since the last oil change. Under severe conditions, the "CHANGE OIL SOON" light may be displayed before 5 000 km (3,000 miles). The vehicle must not be driven more than 16 000 km (10,000 miles) or 12 months without an oil change.

Reset the oil life monitor when the oil has been changed, use the following procedure:
  1. Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
  2. Fully push and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
  3. If the Change Oil Soon light flashes, the system is resetting.
  4. Start the vehicle.
  5. The oil life will change to 100%.
  6. If the Change Oil Soon light comes back on, the system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

With the "CHANGE OIL SOON" message displayed, press any of the three DIC buttons to clear the "CHANGE OIL SOON" message. Display "OIL LIFE RESET" on the DIC. Press and hold the "ENTER" button for at least one second. An "ACKNOWLEDGED" display message will appear for three seconds or until the next button is pressed. This will tell you the system has been reset. Turn the ignition to "OFF". If the "CHANGE OIL SOON" message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure. on the 3.5 liter you have a dipstick near fire wall
