Question about 1998 Pontiac Grand Am

1998 pontiac grand am drivers side window

Hi,
The drivers side window in my 98 Grand Am doesn't seem to sit right...
I've replaced everything but the glass (I'm using the original glass)... the old regulator frame was rusted and bent. The new one worked for about a week and I'm back where I started... I can get it to close (power windows) if I hold it in place with one hand otherwise it slides up crooked and jams... any suggestions?

If it is not right in front of you it doesn't have a switch, it is always active. Most GM cars do not have any switch to turn the TCS off except some performance models like Corvette.

First of all, if you did not buy the power window motor assembly that includes the new tracks, save your self a ton of time and aggravation and do what the auto body people do. Buy the assembly. Once you have that popping off the trim panels and exchanging the old for the new is relatively easy, usually a two hour job, or less.

Need diagram for cables on power windows for 1998 pontiac grand prix

There is no diagram. You will have to buy a window regulator. If the cables are not in there right places on the regulator then something has broken and you need a new one. Hope this is helpful

Had the same thing happen to my 98 GT. It is the cable for the power window motor. Replaced the whole unit was pretty easy. Got the motor on ebay for around $50
