Question about 1997 Honda Civic

Hi there! When i push up my right or left indicator and it locks into place, the problem here is that the left or right indicators at the rear of the car do not blink. Only way they blink is if i push the indicator up and down continuously to get it to blink.

This would be very strange unless the front indicators also have the same behavior....If that is the problem, then the flasher unit will need replacement.

  • Loosen off the under cover (it will be held by machine screws) below the dash board
  • Have a look under the steering column and you will see a number of relays....near the drivers kick panel, (thats the plastic upright panel covering the side by your feet)
  • You will see a number of relays....
  • Look for the one marked 'Flasher Unit' or with the markings 21 W + 21 W
  • It may be easier to remove them one at a time, trying the indicators after each removal until nothing happens....That will be the one....
  • Place replacement flasher unit into the receptacle and that's it.
  • Replace the under panel and off you go....
You'll now be able to wink at anyone you'd like to....

Dear Sir,
As you said you have to push continuously switch then only all for them work, it is clearly symptoms of lose connection, lose connection can occur at two point only in case 1st is at socket at combination switch connector or 2nd is inside combination switch, if lose connection at connector end you can clean it and it will work properly, or it is inside the combination switch then you have replace switch assay it will solve your problem, if any issue please let me know.
thanks

Sounds like your turn signal flasher has gone bad. It's what makes the lights blink. Have it replaced.

06 H3 Hummer right turn signal goes on by itself can't turn off

Turn Signal Lamps
The FRT/TRN/HAZ/CRTSY/MIRR and REAR/TRN/HAZ fuses in the underhood fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the body control module (BCM). When the turn signal switch is placed in either the left or right position, a signal is sent to the BCM to illuminate the desired turn signal lamps. The BCM has an internal flasher that sends an ON-OFF voltage signal to either the left or right turn signals and their instrument panel cluster (IPC) indicator. When the hazard switch is pressed, a separate ground signal is sent to the BCM to activate and flash all turn signal lamps including both IPC turn indicators. The front and rear turn signals are grounded at G105, G350 and G340. The sound for the turn signal indicators is produced by the IPC.

Could be a switch problem , short to ground on the signal circuit to the BCM , BCM seeing a input that shouldn't be there etc....
I would have it checked for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes .

When I turn on either left or right indicator both indicators light up

try pushing the hazard light switch again. what you have is the hazard lights in operation ( both sides indicators working) In normal indicator operation power from the flasher unit is directed to which ever side you select but by pressing the hazard light switch the indicator power lights up all lights.

Left turn signal lights are not working

In my case the left front turn indicator lamp worked, but not the left rear indicator, although all the lamps would turn on with running lights activated, as well as the backup light and 'night-light' mode. The left rear turn indicator would not work with the hazard lights activated. I tested the combination switch (this is the left/right turn indicator switch you use when driving to indicate which direction you are going and is mounted/located on the steering column) and it tested O.K.. I had good continuity from the combination switch black wire, and resistance on the blue-white wire from there to the left rear turn indicator lamp, as well as good continuity on all wires going out from the left parking light fuse. Since the Haynes manual indicated that the flasher module was probably good if it made the tell-tale clicking sound, I was feeling perplexed. So I took it into a local shop that specialized in auto electrics and it turned out to be the flasher module. I was under the impression that it operated in a straight-forward left-right manner, but apparently it has a different circuit for each turn indicator lamp. So even if it is making the appropriate clicking sound when the combo switch is flipped, it could still be the flasher module. Obviously the manual leaves a bit to be desired in the troubleshooting of malfunctioning turn indicators.

Renault Clio 1.2 Petrol T reg I have been having

It sounds as though the ground connection(s) to the rear lamps are suspect - this would seem a sensible place to begin along with ensuring the correct bulbs are fitted and the bulbholders and any internal lamp connections are in good order.

It is also worth checking the wires that pass from the body to the tailgate for internal breaks. It will be necessary to pull back the rubber boot.

If all is found good the trip to the auto electrician is likely...

A pulled fuse panel for a 2003 Jeep Liberty, there are 39 fuses inside a vehicle. I need to know what these fuses are and what they go to.

The fuse box diagram is a sticker placed on the inside of the fuse box cover. This cover is located on the left end of the instrument panel (driver side). The sticker just uses numbers to indicate the fuses. I will match the fuse number with its purpose:
1. Power Outlet, Front
2. Rear Fog Lights
3. Horns
4. Headlight, Low Beam, Right
5. Headlight, Low Beam, Left
6. Body Control Module / Power Door Locks
7. Spare
8. Spare
9. Right Park Light / Right Tail Light / Trailer Tow Lights / Cluster
10. Spare
11. Flasher
12. Stop Lights
13. Body Control Module / CMTC / Cluster
14. Spare
15. PDC Fuel Pump and Auto Shut Down Relays / SKIS
16. Power Outlet Rear
17. Rear Wiper
18. Radio Choke
