Question about 1994 Buick Park Avenue

The a/c controls stopped working, but the blower motor will stay on. is there a relay that contro;s this, or is it something else??? its getting cold and i need heat!

The fan, like the AC , is controlled by the Climate Control unit and it has failed. You must replace it - or at least take the car to a repair shop who will find out why it failed and if it can be repaired.

Doesn't stay cold or the blower stops working? Blower motors are a common failure, the brushes just wear out. Hit it when it isn't working, if it works, it is bad. The transistors also fail. If it gets warm, Check the relays for the compressor 1st. If the compressor isn't coming on, swap it's relay with another identical 1 in the relay box. The compressor clutch coils also get weak with age. Make sure both fans come on with the A/C.

Climat control blower dont blow anymore


Someone would check for power and ground at the blower motor, and then work back to the control.
You may need a repair book or shop manual to get the wiring diagrams.

Blower Motor Control Processor
The blower motor control processor controls the speed of the blower motor by increasing or decreasing the voltage drop on the ground side of the blower motor. The HVAC control module provides a voltage signal to the blower motor control processor over the blower motor speed control circuit. As the requested blower speed increases, the HVAC control module increases the amount of time that the speed signal is modulated to ground. As the requested blower speed decreases, the HVAC control module decreases the amount of time that the signal is modulated to ground.

Air Speed - Front Control
The blower motor forces outside air into the vehicle's interior. The vehicle operator determines the blower motor's speed when the driver places the blower switch in one of 5 blower speeds. The blower motor will always operate in any switch position other than OFF, as long as the ignition switch is in the RUN position. The blower motor and mode switches are located within the HVAC control module. The blower motor OFF input is connected in series with the HVAC control module by the off blower motor control circuit.
Depending upon the selected speed, power is provided to the blower motor from either the ignition 3 voltage or battery positive voltage circuits from the fuse block. The battery positive voltage circuit only provides power when the High blower switch position is selected. Power and ground are provided to the HVAC control module by the ignition 3 voltage and the ground circuits.
Low Blower Speed
When the Low 1 blower speed is selected, the HVAC control module applies voltage to the blower motor resistor assembly through the low blower motor control circuit. Voltage is divided between 4 series resistors, a blower relay, and the blower motor to achieve the desired blower speed. The blower motor is grounded through the ground circuit.
Medium Blower Speeds
When the Medium 1 blower speed is selected, the HVAC control module applies voltage to the blower motor resistor assembly through the medium 1 blower motor control circuit. Voltage is divided between 3 series resistors, a blower relay, and the blower motor to achieve the desired blower speed. The blower motor is grounded through the ground circuit.
When the Medium 2 blower speed is selected, the HVAC control module applies voltage to the blower motor resistor assembly through the medium 2 blower motor control circuit. Voltage is divided between 2 series resistors, a blower relay, and the blower motor to achieve the desired blower speed. The blower motor is grounded through the ground circuit.
When the Medium 3 blower speed is selected, the HVAC control module applies voltage to the blower motor resistor assembly through the medium 3 blower motor control circuit. Voltage is divided between a series resistor, a blower relay, and the blower motor to achieve the desired blower speed. The blower motor is grounded through the ground circuit.
High Blower Speed
When the High blower speed is selected, the HVAC control module applies voltage to the blower motor resistor assembly through the high blower motor control circuit. The voltage energizes the blower relay, causing the blower motor to be connected directly to the battery positive voltage circuit. The blower motor and blower motor relay are grounded through the ground circuit.

The HVAC control module is a class 2 device that interfaces between the operator and the HVAC system to maintain air temperature and distribution settings. The battery positive voltage circuit provides power that the control module uses for keep alive memory (KAM). If the battery positive voltage circuit loses power, all HVAC DTCs and settings will be erased from KAM. The body control module (BCM), which is the vehicle mode master, provides a device on signal. How do I get to the fuses under the dash for the heater blower? I found the ones under the hood. Thanks, Norm


The fuses for ther front blower are in the underhood fuse relay panel. #10 fuse is a 40 amp and it's turned on by the font blower motor relay in the center of the under hood fuse realy panel. the dianostics can by addressed with a scanner and the contoll can be reset with pushing a series of buttons on the heater control panel. Most shops don't have a scanner that's involved enough the address and body control module of a chysler corporation vehical. The blowers themselves fail often as rainwater gets in them and they rust out. Before test or even looking for the contro; systems just unplug the blower motor and test for power at the motor wires with a test light. You need the power to be on ( Key on and the engine running) The other wire connected to the motor needs to be tested for ground too. But if you have power and ground and the motor doesn't run beat on the motor to see if it'll start. and if you known you've got the power and the ground your changing the motor ( the common problem)

OUR 04 TRAILBLAZER, THE A/C STOPPED WORKING, IT WOULD WORK SOMETIMES AND BLOW COLD AIR NOW NOTHING COMES OUT, OR THE HEATER TOO.. LITTLE AIR WILL PULL THROUGH IF ON THE HIGHWAY, I CAN HEAR IT CLICK OVER...


a couple of things,1 blower motor fuse.2 blower motor gone out.3 switch on fan speed control switch not sending signal to fans.after checking the fuses.next check theswitch on control panel.set ac or heater.if fan still doesnt come on then replace it.when it work and then stops working there are a lot of possiblities that caused the prob relay too not fliping over inside staying close loop.hope this helps.

A/C -- Blower controls not working


usually you have a leak in the system low on freon this dual system take more than 2 pound of freon second the blower works only on high you need the blower motor risistor usually it is mounted next to the blower motor

1997 buick century - blower stays on when car is off


The blower motor relay is stuck, holding the curcit engauged. Look under the hood, find the conveinence center, where you will find fuses and relays (read the cover, see if one says AC/Heater blower relay), if not, look in your car's manual, to see where this relay is located. When you find it, pull it out, see if the moter stops, if ti does , replace it.

Air conditioning blower stays on at all times.


Per your description, I believe you may have a blower fan relay that is stuck closed.
Remove the relay from the under-hood fuse center and see if the fan stops.
If it does stop, put the relay in slowly and see if you here the relay "click" and the fan come back on.
