Jesus, um is that the dealership or something, even if its a v8 plugs and wires should cost no more than thermostat 7.99 coolant 20 bux plus 10 bux for solvent flush kit oil 20 bux with filter wires 13 for valuecraft,16 bux duralast or bosh for 32 depending on quality plugs 2-3 dollars each dont get the 4 prong platnum ****. i would never spend more than 3 dollers for a plug. not more than 2.5 hours labor there, but at a shop usually 60 bux per hour bout 100 bux in parts, unless they are doing tranny flush which is like another 50 bux in parts it would help if you listed prices they gave you for each type of work on the estimate.

Do a tune up on a 1983 F150

Easy one, plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and possibly plug wires if they are cracked or broken or even corroded on the ends . Top it off w\fuel injector cleaner for the tank, this should cost around a 100 bucks, good oil change wouldn't hurt either when you can get done, those are good trucks and should run forever...

2006 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4L engine..........What does a complete tune-up consist of?

It depends how far you want to go. usually a tune up consists of an oil change, oil filter included, air filter change, and tire check and rotation. But a tune up could also include spark plug check and replacement/upgrade, spark plug wire replacement/upgrade, coolant flush, or even a transmission flush. It all depends on how far you want to go

My car had a tune up change plus not wires and its making a missing sound

a tune up consist of plugs, filters, wires, cap, oil, grease , brake inspection, trans filter,. this is funny. this guy asked me to look at his truck as he had a tune up on it and it ran for three days and quit, so i went to check it out, wouldnt start. after inspecting i noticed plug area looked as if they were as old as the milage 160,000. took 15 minutes to get one plug out, the electrode was burnt off completely, yet it had a tune up. cap and wires!! If you do a tune up it has to be complete or its not worth doing any of it,

What`s the cost of a oil change and a tune up and brake job each one seperate please

This is a very tough question. It will completely depend on where you take the car, what all you have done in the tune up, and what kind of parts are used. For an example. You can buy oil for $.99 a quart for cheap motor oil all the way up to $16. a quart on the oil change. Then on the tune up. Spark plugs, wires, transmission fluid and filter, greasing front end, changing differential oil, etc. That is going to depend on what parts you use also and how much you want to have done. And the same with a brake job. You can buy cheap pads for $30 or top of the line one's for around $200. So it is going to depend on what exactly you want done and how much you want to spend. Also where you take the car also. A dealership is going to be at least 15-20% higher than somewhere like Pep-Boys.

How to keep my 1997 j30 in good running condition

Includes: Oil & oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, every 6 months if you drive it a lot.
At that time check spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor. and replace if necessary.

Change trans fluid and filter every 2 years if you drive it a lot, other wise 3-4 years.

Switch to synthetic oil. It's worth the price.
Don't add any "additives". They shouldn't be necessary and may actually do more harm than good.

Watch how you drive.

What do you call a tune up?

U are correct, a 'tune up' is not an oil change, although the oil certainly can be changed at the time of a tune up (every 3k miles or twice a year if u don't drive much, and always change the oil filter too). Cars differ, mostly older to newer as to what can and should be done for a tune up. A car from the 1960's would need more parts replaced more often than a new car today (example: electronic ignitions of newer cars eliminate ignition points replacement, and generally, replacement is not as often of other parts: example, spark plugs).
So, a tune up can include spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and I would include fuel and air filters. There are exceptions to this too, making it more complicated to generalize what to replace, as wires and spark plugs can last 100k miles now, some vehicles don't have the traditional dist. cap and rotor to replace. Check your car owners manual for an idea of what to replace and how often. If u don't have the original owners manual, check the car manufacturers web site for info. Good luck with the tune up!
