first the flashing light means that it is trying to go into 4wd. as far as i know there is no adjustment. The shift motor may be bad, If the transfer case is shifting it could be the silinod in the front differantal.

There are two different ratios for a S10 Blazer,a 3.42(GU6) and a 3.08(GU4).Look in your glove box for a GM option codes.Look for a GU6 or GU4 code for the type of ratio you have.Hope this helps.

Visit the autozone.com website and register the vehicle information. It's free and you will have access to an online repair manual for the vehicle. There is extensive information on the fuel system (including the fuel pump) and it is a handy resource for anyone doing maintenance on their own vehicles. I'm sure you will find it useful. Sure hope so anyway and best wishes.

Will a 1996 chevy blazer LS 4wd differential fit into a 2000 chevy blazer LS rwd rear end ?

Measure the lenth of both rear ends. see iss all hardware will bolt up without fabrication. if its the same size it will work. But im afraid being a 4 wheel drive it will be geared lower then a regular pick up/ Drive shaft may work but if not it would have to be shortened or lenghthebed. alot of work. Brakes you could leave the non drum breaks on better stopping power. I honestly believe you would be better off just going to a scrap yard and find one very easy to remove and replave few hour job.

What is the rear wheel bearing gear ratio for a 2001 Chevy Blazer 4WD - 2 door?

I think you mean the rear end ratio. there is no gear ratio for the wheel bearing. If you look at the factory sticker on the drivers door, there will be an "axle code". write that down and then look here for the ratio.

Need to find gear ratio on 2000 chevy blazer

If you want to find the ratio then you can remove the rear differential cover and spin the wheels by hand to turn the gears and find the number on the carrier gear. The numbers will be what you need to tell what the ratio is.

Want to change gears in rear end for posi traction in a 98 gmc25000 is this possible?

It is possible, you just have to know what gear ratio you have in your Sierra. I had issues with my son's rear differential and did the Salvage Yard and picked one up for $250.00 with less then 45,000 miles. Remember new cars end up at Salvage Yards also.

Here are the Pro code for the rear ends to your Sierra and you can match one up at a Salvage Yard.
GQ1 -- AXLE REAR, STD RATIO
GT4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.73 RATIO
GT5 -- AXLE REAR, 4.10 RATIO
GU4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
GU5 -- AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 -- AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO
G80 -- AXLE REAR, LIMITED SLIP (POSI TRACTION)

HC4 -- AXLE REAR, 4.56 RATIO

Open Your glove box and look inside it. Should be a list of codes on the bottom.
Example: GU6 G80 According to that, you'll have a 3.42 posi

Good luck and keep me posted and call around Salvage Yards, there prices will differ from one to the next salvage yard and don't ask them for a posi rear end. The cost will you more, just search all the SUV's and look at the pro codes in the glove box. Hunt, most awd system SUV will have the G80 rear end.

Good luck and keep me posted.

Where do I find the gear ratio for the rear diffI I have a 2000 blazer ls 4 door 4x4

Lower down this page is a chart with RPO codes, which can potentially be found inside the glove box...
The codes pertain to the transfer case, the front differential, and the rear differential, so it may take a bit of snooping.

However, if you were merely looking for the driving-gear-ratios, here's a page containing that kind of information for a 2000 4wd ls blazer:

Rear end gear ratio

you can count the teeth on the ring gear and divide that # by the tooth count on the pinion. An example is: ring gear 100, pinion 10 ...100divided by 10 is 10, expressed as 10 to one. (fake #) your diff is likely a 3 series such as 3.23 to 1. or a four series such as 4.11 to 1. If you have four wheel drive it is critical to match exactly. if not you can get better performance by changing ratio to something that better fits your needs. 4 series pull loads well, 3 series are better on fuel.(depending upon terrain)

The rear went out in my SUV and I need to know the gear ratio. I have another rear but need to know if it will work.

Hold one wheel. mark the other wheel. Turn the unlocked wheel two complete revolutions. Count the number of turns the yoke make in two revolutions of the unlocked wheel. 3 1/2 turns= 3.42 3 3/4 turns 3.73 and so on

I was just wondering if my 2001 chevy blazer has a rear lockin differental??

They were an option but you can find out by looking in your glove box's GM RPO Codes. It's the sicker on the inside of the glove box with numbers and letter.
Here are some listing on the gear ratio you may have,
U4: Rear Axle, 3.08 Ratio             U5: Rear Axle, 3.23 Ratio U6: Rear Axle, 3.42 Ratio
If it is a GU the G stands for the rear Locking Differential.
Good luck and hope this helps.
