On the back of the steering rack is a sensor that increases the idle when turning the steering wheel stationary and i think this sensor needs changing ,the sensor is on the back of the steering rack where the steering wheel shaft goes into the rack .when faulty the idle will drop when wheel is turned but as its such a big engine you may not notice the harder steering .Which you would with a small engine under 2 litre

Have a 2002 ford Taurus ses replaced the neutral safety switch or the trs sensor but removed incorrectly and installed it how do I align the it so that it will start

Loosen the bolts some. Have some one hold the key in the start position. Move the TRS until it starts. Turn the car off, put it in neutral, if it starts in neutral also, tighten the bolts down.

Codes po171 174

Here we go.... just pulled out our service ticket:

Soooo interesting, I had never looked at these before:

So on 1/10/2005 we took the Vue in, and they did the following:
date: 1/10/2005
"CUSTOMER STATES THE SES LIGHT IS ON"
CAUSE: UNKNOWN
TECH COMM: SES LIGHT IS ON. FOUND FUEL TRIM LEAN CODE P0171 & P0174. RETORQUE INTAKE VACUUM CHAMBER BOLTS AND INSTALL VACUUM CHAMBER SPRINGS PER BULLETIN02/06/01/016A

REPAIR 1: INLET AIR CONTROL VACUUM RESERVOIR - REPLACE

Then, evidently it came back on a week later:

date 1/17/2005:

LINE1: "CUSTOMER STATES THE SES LIGHT IS ON"
CAUSE: OPEN
TECH COMM: SES LIGHT IS ON.
FOUND CODE P0171 FUEL TRIM LEAN B1 CODE P0174

...

The problem NEVER came back..

There's my experience. Good luck!

code p1260 refers to throttle return spring--weak spring force. causes ---mechanical fault,--,throttle control unit
code p1264 refers to throttle valve opening-accelerator released causes ---throttle control unit---mechanical fault

Why is my Grand Prix surging/stalling when ideling?

If you did not disconnect the battery and drain the voltage from the ECM, it could be using old settings when the problem existed.
When a problem occurs, the computer tries to correct it or find new settings to work around the problem. When you fix a problem you have to clear the codes and sometimes erase the memory from the computer to allow it to start back at the factory settings.
When you disconnect something and the check engine light comes on, the computer goes into limp mode and uses values for the sensors preset by the factory. The car will almost always run rich to ensure the driver can get back to a place for repairs.

My 2001 Pathfinder has an SES light with codes p1140, p0138, p0139... O2 sensors and a cam sensor... O2 sensor replaced, and the swapped the cam sensor with its partner on the other side... 150miles...

Possible mass airflow sensor. A cheaper way to get around paying for the super expensive 2001 Path part is to use the same year maxima sensor since they use the same motor :)

Where is the camshaft sensor located on a 2002 ford taurus ses?

Look at front of engine, attached to timing cover down near crankshaft pulley, if it's 3.0L EFI.
