SOURCE: volkswagen jetta over heating

hi tammy
it could be an air lock stopping the water from circulating properly i seem to recall this problem on the older VW Derby and audi 50 (same engine) there is a small bleed screw at the highest point on the cooling system that allows you to bleed this air out youll find its location in the manual

another thing to try is put a flushing agent through the system incase there are any blockages in the radiator itself

hope this helps

SOURCE: where is located the ac fuse for a vw jetta 2001?

There is an under the hood fuse block where most fuses are located. There should be a diagram on the underside of the lid that explains what fuse is what. It also might be located on the drivers side of the dash in the door jam. German's like to use little pictures so look for something that resembles A/C and check if any of the fuses are blown.

SOURCE: How to change volkswagen Jetta (2001) headlights?

#1. DON'T TOUCH THE GLASS OF THE NEW BULB WITH YOUR HANDS. The oils, no matter how clean your hands are, will greatly shorten the lifr of the bulb.

#2 Open the hood, on the back of the headlight housing there are two covers. 1 is curved and held with metal retainers, and the other is plastic. You want to remove the curved one by sliding aside the metal retainers, carefully with a screwdriver.

#3 Unplug the connecter attached to the bulb.

#4 Next there is a plastic retainer holding in the bulb. A quick turn one way or the other and that's off. The bulb is free.

Installation is just the reverse, make sure you get the plastic retainer (#4) on the correct way otherwise the bulb will either fall out or be at an odd angle

When tried to get codes , out of the car with the scanner it gives a error . nothing more , car's working fine but check engine light on , on a 2001 jetta gl 2.0L engine , thanks .

I had the same problem with my son's 2001 Jetta.
If you have an after maket stereo installed, remove it and run your scan again.
Problem is an interuption of the diagnostic bus that runs throughout the car.

The ac in my 95 Jetta just works while the car is cool, then it stop

In addition to what emission wiz says, observe the speed of the fan when you turn on the a/c. some fans, when the are cold they run faster, then they get hot and slow down a lot. Also check that the small belt that drives the second propeller is ok. And for last, check that the front of the radiator is clear of any garbage, like a plastic bag that might have been cought in front of the condenser with the wind. If all this is working properly, there is nothing else that could be happening machanically to this a/c to stop it from cooling. look at the center of the pully of the compresor, make sure the entire thig is spining when clutch engages.
