Problem with the motor, internally, this engine has a "carbon" and depegan stick when the switch is activated. For reasons of wear, could fail to raise the glass.

Take off and check it.

1998 Grand Prix SE right rear passenger window falls

The window regulator that holds the glass that the motor moves up and down is probably broke. There are some plastic parts that get brittle and break. I'd say you need a regulator especially if you can hear the motor operating.

How do I fix my rear passenger window from falling down

It sounds like you need a window regulator. You have to remove the door panel to inspect and see what is happening.

2001 grand am gt windows not working

pull the door panels off and remove the plastic sound deadenning liner from the door. find the window motor and unplug the wire harness. check the voltage by ressing down as to open the window(you can do up too, same thing), and see if you get 12volts when you press the button. if so your motors are burned. if not you have power issues and need to check your fuses. start off with the fuses first.

2001 pontiac grand am gt four door, rear window pass side install

I would go to the local auto parts store and have them print a picture. but the repair is pretty straight forward.

The door panel has to come off. The window motor and regulator have to come off. The motor and regulator is held in screw or rivots.
The rivots have to be drilled out and replaced . Then the window comes right out. The bottom tabs on the window are glue so the window can slide on the track. The tabs have to be ordered seperately or come with the window sometimes.

Have fun
