normally fuse controlled but remember that inside the heater bopx are 3 resistors that alter fan speed when you change the knob position on the dash. They do burn out and have to be replace to make the fan work
sounds like too me that blower moter goen out. winding goen bad. best way to check for this too find the wires leading to the blower motor diconned the wire use volt meter to check ohm in windings. should hve reading of OL. if get readin other than that bsd windingds in it.
Most likely neither. The most common cause is that an electrical device called the blower motor resister block, has failed. This device provides all the slower speeds. It is generally mounted in the HVAC [Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning] box, very close to the blower motor. FYI, we mechanics call the fan motor inside the cabin the blower motor. The electric fan motor behind the radiator is called the cooling fan motor. If the resistor block is OK, then you have either a bad fan speed switch or a melted electrical connector at that switch. 95% of the time, the resister block is the problem. Charlie
Cars usually overheat when the thermostat is faulty, coolant level is low, or the water pump fails. If your cooling fan on the radiator does not kick on shortly after the engine reaches operating temperature, you may have a bad cooling fan, cooling fan relay, or cooling fan fuse. If your engine is overheating, start by checking the fluid level, and installing a new thermostat.
First look to see if you have a fuse for the blower motor...then you will want to disconnect power to the fan an jump 12 volts to the fan motor to see if it works...if ok, then there is a speed control resistor that sometimes goes bad located on the heater assembly...It is usually right past the fan so the fan can keep it cool and has 4 or more wires on it. if all else ok then last would be the switch inside car
if you are talking about the engine electric cooling fan..it will run after car is turned off until temp goes down then it shut off..unless you're talking about the heater blower motor..then i would look in the engine compartment passenger side firewall for the heater box ..on the box there is speed control resistor for the heater fan speed..that might be shorted.if not fan switch on dash..give more info next time..it makes it easier answer with more info
"MAX" ONLY puts the climate control in the RECIRC mode. Door modes change to " RECIRCULATE" interior cabin air back to be RE-COOLED, instead of using HOT OUTSIDE air to cool. If the problem is in the panel, complete replacement is required. Hope this helps
