SOURCE: pontiac sunfire

I had that problem last year. I bought a new starter but it was not the correct one for my car. For the 98 there are two different starters. I bought the wrong one the first time. My step father started to put it one and realized it was not the same as the one he just pulled off. Ending up taking it with us when we returned the orginial one I bought. The orginial one I bought was about $70 the correct one was $400. The auto store did not have the correct one listed as a replacement part. Until the number off of the part was keyed into the system and found out that it was just not the common replacement part.

SOURCE: broke stud on front left side

Yes you can replace the broken wheel stud. The wheel studs are pressed into place, and a vise will work to press it out, and in. You will have to remove the wheel hub, and then use a deep well socket and a bolt or something smaller than the actual stud to remove it with a vise. To replace it, you will need to use the deep well socket on the thread side of the stud, and press the new one in with the vise.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck with your repair.

Wheel studs lost on 2004 Pontiac Sunfire while driving

not sure what your asking, but they usually come off if the threads on the stud are too worn or the wheel nut is worn or damaged. they can be replaced both studs and nuts. this is why its recommended to use a torque wrench to tighten wheel nuts and not an impact gun.

How to replace a broken stud on 99 pontiac sunfire

hub studs are just a press in fit . the replacement can usually be done with out the hub removal. remove the drum /disc rotor
using a hammer and punch drive the broken stud out. place new stud in position and pull in to place using nut and spacers to get it home .
if you can remove the hub and drive the broken stud out . fit new stud and place the hub over something like a piece of pipe /socket the new stud in the pipe or socket) that is on something solid and hammer the new stud home.

2004 Pontiac Sunfire Snapped 3 Studs on front wheel. Do I have to pull the hub to get the new ones in? Ay present they are too long to fit behind the hub and in the holes.

You may be able to get them in by turning the steering wheel to give yourself more clearance. If not you have to pull the hub

What all needs to be done to replace wheel studs on a 1998 sunfire

Take off tire. Take off rotor if possible. Literally hit the stud hard with a heavy hammer and it will fall out the back. Might have to put the hub in a certain possition to allow the stud a place to go out the back. the move it again to line up he next one.

Broken stud on left front wheel

Remove: wheel, brake caliper & rotor. Drive out the remaining stub with a hammer and punch. Insert a new stud and pull it into place by tightening the lug nut. Before running out of threads, remove the nut, insert a stack of washers or a large nut which slips over the threads without contacting them, tighten the lug nut to seat the stud.
