Question about 2007 Toyota Corolla
I have a rattle noise in engine sounds like a vibration when cold & when a/c button on tech ordered a/c compressor & I find out several other corolla's have same problem but it is not the compressor & enginering is suppose to be looking into this what could it possibly be & will it harm the vehicle if it is driven & a/c is used? e-mail is GEMINI1160@COMCAST.NET
SOURCE: Engine knock
The idle issue is normal. The idle is controlled by the ECU. There are no adjustments for the idle. Regarding the knocking noise, that could be several things, and I am hesitant to comment without hearing it. Take it to a Toyota Dealer & have a tech listen to it. We are very good at identifying noises on the service drive.

SOURCE: my car vibrates
Research this: "NHTSA Number 10025856". Print out your findings and take it to the dealership. Speak to the Service Manager directly. Ask for 2 1/5 minutes of his time, and tell him what is going on. Tell you have researched and have found the probability, and give him a copy of your print out.

The 3.3 no longer has a "spin-on" filter. The filter is now a "cartridge-type", and is housed in a cricular aluminum housing under the engine.

don't know where you are located but assume you have an advanced auto or autzone near by if you drive the car there you can use there scan tool for free and retrieve the code from the check engine light and pinpoint your problem. could be alot of problems but that will tell you exactly what thye issue is.
