The resistor is not on the motor. Go into the passenger foot well and look underneath the dashboard right at the back. There you will find a foam cover that just pulls out. Remove the foam and you will see a clip on connector plugged in a white insert. The white insert is the resistor. Firmly pull the white insert out of the dash and the resistor is in your hand

It's the resistor. You can replace the part for around $40 or repair the part for around $2. Prevent the part from failing again be refurbishing your blower motor. Here are two videos showing you how to accomplish this...

Remove heater control switch

Before removing the heater switch on this 2006 citroen hdi I would first have the blower motor checked and the most common reason for this and other blower problems would be the blower resistor.

Your blower works on and off at times, first locate the blower motor and the resistor. the blower motor is located on the heater box, look under the pass/side of the dash, you may have to remove under dash cover to see blower.
When you have located the blower now look to the side on the heater box, there you will see a connector plug, it plugs into a connection on the heater box, this will be the resistor, the resistor slides into heater box and the end of it bolts to box to hold it in place and then the connector plugs into it, if you can not locate it then follow wires that plug into blower , follow wires back they will lead you to resistor,
next time blower does not work wiggle connector to resistor and see if blower turns on, if it does then resistor is the problem. also unplug resistor plug at resistor and check for any burning of connectors at plug and inside resistor.

I would bet its a bad resistor or the plug is brunt due to high draw from bad connections, if plug has burn damage to connectors then replace the plug along with resistor.

I beleve all vehicles would have a blower motor resistor. Go to your parts place and ask them for a price on the blower motor resistor and ask for a print out location, they will give you one. Resistor is normally located around the motor.

The blower motor resistor may be the cause of it not working. They cost roughly $12. Here is a video on how to replace them:

I would try to isolate the blower motor power connection, disconnecting anything from the motor and jumpering 12V DC directly into it to see if it will run when power is applied. That would rule out a bad motor. These are good places to start.

Blower Not Working In Speeds 1 to 3

Try to locate blower motor wires, usually up under dash on passenger side, maybe behind glove box, and follow wires from motor and they will usually connect to housing area, and real good chance that connection is your resistor pack if held on by screws or small bolts. Other place that you may find resistor is opposite side of firewall from blower, under hood. Look for connection at firewall, usually on passenger side.
