you have to monitor the fuel pressure, if you find that the pressure drops off as soon as the engine has started you should check the fuel pump resistor located on the frame next to the windshield washer tank. If the resistor is ok see if you can keep the engine running with carb cleaner. If the engine stays running on the carb cleaner try disconnecting the mass air flow sensor and see if the engine continues to run by itself. This is all taking for granted that there is not a security system problem. check if the security light keeps flashing while trying to start.
If the Service Engine Soon Light is on continuously there is a serious problem with one of the systems of your engine. Have it checked as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it could leave you stranded which will be very inconvenient.
If there is an Auto Zone or any other large auto parts store, have them scan the truck for the DTC codes. The DTC codes will identify the Issues that needs to be addressed in your engine and transmission that has set off the service engine light on. Once the issues has been resolved, the light will reset it self after the third start up and after 40 start up will erase it self from the history as long as there is no additional issues. Good luck and hope this helps, Shift suddenly become very hard. When going from park to either
reverse or drive it slams into gear. 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are also harsh.
All gears seems to work. Problem may be intermittent: Check TPS for smooth electrical response. If the response is jumpy or erratic at all, replace TPS.
Hi, the problem you are having with your tank sounds like the breather hose coming from the tank is blocked this can be hard to locate and i have not done it on your make of vehicle usually its located on the top of the tank and runs inside the wheel arch alongside the fuel filler hose. You might not see this without removing the wheel and dust cover you would need to get under the car with it on ramps and find any hoses untill you locate one that comes out of the tank and is not connected to anything. This being blocked is causing you an airlock not allowing the fuel to enter the tank properly also this can build up pressure in the tank eventually causing problems with fual flow. As for the engine service light if you service the car yourself then you might have problem resetting this light. If you still have the user manual that came with the car then it might tell you in their how to reset this on certain makes and models you can reset it yourself but some vehicles require a hand held device connected to a connector on the engine management ecu then this would reset the service light. Hope this is some help to you let me know if you require further assistance
Evap cannister is located next gas tank . Sounds like vaccum leak problem with engine running open hood and listen for hissing noise in vaccum lines also crawl uder vehicle near gas tank and listen most of the time leak can be located like this.
you will need to take it in for a diagnosis scan. this Will scan for trouble codes that will direct you and your mechanic to the issue at hand. it will also tell you how to fix this issue as well. once this problem is fixed, the light will shut off.
In most cases, it a failed sensor of some sort. most auto zones will scan the ecm for free.
If your battery starts turns the engine over, it is doing it's job well. It sounds like your engine computer is not liking the cold engine. If it has been a while since a tune up, it would not hurt to go ahead and do it, but if it runs ok after it warms up, I sould not worry about it a whole lot. When the engine is cold, the egr valve and other things that are made to limit polution tend to stick and give the computer bad readings. A serious tune up may fix it, and I think should, but you MAY still be in the same boat! That does not FIX it for you, but should ease your mind on the light.
