Hi Maury,

My first suggestion is save your money. Get a used window register from a wrecking yard. Certainly for under $100.00

If it's a U-Pull-it place so much the better. That way you can get comfortable with taking the liner off without messing it up.

Bring a drill or center punch as you may need to deal with rivets. A portable jump box will be handy too for retracting the window.

Pulling it is pretty straight forward

Best regards

Mike

Why won't the drivers side window in 2000 Taurus won't go up. Can hear the click, window won't move.

Not sure about an easy fix other than putting plastic over the window. It sounds like the motor that pushes the window up may be seized up.

I have a 1995 ford windstar. The driver side power window stopped working in the up position. When I depress the switch to lower the window, I hear a clicking noise like a relay coming from under the dash...

The clicking noise doesn't mean anything , relay controls one touch down . Just means relay is probably working ! Take the door panel off an check power to the switch , motor . Watch this videos . Test the electrical circuit The Trainer 24 Power Window Troubleshooting

The motor or the switch or the regulator or maybe be a wiring problem .

Drivers side window,1996 BMW 318is,stoped working? can hear it click in the door when I press the button. can I trubshot and fix @ home

chances are you are going to have to replace the motor in that door. the quick and easy way is to replace the entire assembly which includes the motor and the track. If you are handy enough to remove the interior door panel and remove the old assembly you can certainly install the new one.

Driver side window usually won't work - Usually....

you can but you would need to attempt to diagnose this problem when the vehicle is acting up. You would need to check for power and ground at the window motor/regulator assembly, they have a tendency to go through window switches and regulators so before changing both i would get a good test light. Wait for the problem to start and probe one of the wires while moving the switch up and down, if you dont get power at either direction its the switch, if you do its the regulator.
happy motoring

When the driver's side window button is pressed, there is a "click" sound from the window motor but the window doesn't move. How do I check the window motor and/or the control console?

While holding the button in the down position with the key in the "on" position tap on the window motor with a hammer. Or if the window is down, hold the button in the "up" position. If window starts working when you do this there is most likely a bad spot on the armature in the window motor or the brushes in the motor have worn out. Hope this is helpful. Good luck.

Rear Passenger Window (Drivers Side) will not go down

Hello, To check to see if its the motor or the switch is simple. Turn the ignition switch on and turn off all noise making things, radio etc. Open your door that has the problem and operate the window switch while you have your ear against the door panel. Listen carefully, you should hear a slight click as you operate the switch. Make sure that the child lock is not on. If you hear it click, the window switch is good and the motor is bad. If it doesn't click, the switch is bad.
If the motor clicks but has no movement you will need to replace it. It comes as an assembly with the regulator. You can not buy the motor separately.
You do not need to take to a dealer for repair but whoever does it needs to know these cars.
I hope this helps.

Hear clicking sound from Passenger window, but won't roll up or down

The clicking is the relay, that means the relay is ok, if it didn't click it would be defective, you most likely have a faulty power window motor.

2000 GMC Jimmy SLE driver's power window

The same thing happened to my 1999 JMC Jimmy recently. I believe the problem is that your power window motor has most likely gone out or is starting to go out. The motor will need replaced. They are pretty expensive new. I went to a junkyard and got one for around 15 dollars. When mine went bad, I had rolled my window down about three or four inches and it stuck there. I took my door panel off and tapped on the motor while holding up on the window switch and got it to go up after a few minutes. I am replacing my motor today, I'll leave an update here about the outcome when I finish the job. I hope this information helps you.
