Frank....It's obvious to me you've never worked under an Equinox...they don't have idler arm, nor steering arms as it is rack and pinion

Most likely a front end problem such as idler arm or even balencing of the tires, ball joints, bent rim...ETC

The idler arm takes up slack on the from end with the steering mechanism. Try this link or just google it and then select images. http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/vi...

I meant front end. Anyhow look at your steering arm and then look on other side. Get some one who doesn't mind getting dirty and have them move the arm. If it is good he will have a lot of problem trying to move it.

Whole car shakes

if the car shakes violently then have a wheel alignment done
if it is a vibration have the cv joints and drive line checked
other than that run the fault codes to check for misfiring problems.

Ignition key will not turn on my 2005 chevy equinox

Try turning your steering wheel hard to left or right while trying to turn the key and see if that resolves tour problem. Sometimes if you shut the engine off with the wheels turned the power steering will hold pressure against the steering lock mechanism.

Nissan Frontier 02 ABS LIGHT AND BAD SHAKE ON HIGHWAY Wheels are all balanced, brakes, rotors are replaced now. It will be running smooth on highway, but at varying times, highway speeds, it will start...

i would start with checking the axles because most of them have a abs ring on them which will trigger the abs light. also make sure your axles are in good shape. last resort would be that you need new tires because the steel bands inside are starting to seperate. good luck

Car shakes every time when appling brakes

The rotors are warped, need to replace them, also when the wheeles are put back on, the lug nuts need to be tourqued down to the specifications for that car, or the new rotors will warp again.

Shake in steering wheel

I believe you need your disk brake rotors turned to be true again or have them replaced. Whe you use your brakes a lot and kit puddles of cold water then it will warp the rotors which will cause the violent shaking. You may not feel it in the brake pedal even if it is warped rotors. If you don't think you have warped rotors then you should be very careful driving it because it will probably be in the steering sector arm or the idler arm on the steering shaft.

Shake in steering wheel

Sounds like your brake rotors. You dont have to feel it in the pedal to get a shake in the wheel.
