My 2001 Kia optima will not accelerate over 3000 rpm

I had that exact problem with my 2005 Kia optima.. It suddenly started one morning.. My Kia would not turn over.. I felt it was a power issue so I unattached my after market fog-lights that I have attached to my battery.. That got my ride to start, but upon driving it refused to go past 3000 rpms (in all gears)... I took apart my battery terminals and scrubbed them down with a tooth brush and coca-cola.. That was a perfect fix for my situation.. My Kia ran perfectly right after...
Good luck

I have a kia optima 2004 that has a kill switch need to know where it is its draining my battery untill i reset it but cant find it

If you put the following into Google it shows a number of items can be reset.

"2004 kia optima reset"

One site says the Optima doesn't have a fuel pump reset, but offers this on another site

It may be under hood above brake booster, has red button to reset, the 2004 kia spectra,s are located there so i can only assume that the optima would be there to.

There is also information on resetting the computer. This will clear the engine malfunction light. There is a section in my Tips if you click on my name on resetting the vehicle ant-theft system, which is the same thing as it is controlled by the ECM.

2004 kia optima computer reset Google Search

Having said all that, drain or correctly named 'parasitic draw', is from lights being left on in the hood or trunk, or some other electrical device shorting to earth. They are difficult to find and you need a good auto-electrician.

If my door jamb switch is bad on my 2001 kia optima could it cause the car to have no power at all and not start at all if the battery is fully charged?

YOU MEAN THE DOOR LIGHT SWITCH???? MOST LIKELY YOUR BATTRY WAS DRAINED BY THE DOME LIGHT BEEN ON ALL NIGHT OR ALL DAY. TURN ON YOUR HEADLIGHTS AND CHECK IF THEY WORK OR ARE DIMMED. THATS A SING OF DEAD BATTERY.

A few hunderd possible causes - sticking pistons, frozen slide pins, loose pads, worn pads, offset/loose/missing bolts - caliper, worn hub bearing, defective master cylinder, malfunction in the master cylinder vacuum boost bellows. Anybody's guess
