Surging well the whole problem started with the car taking off on me when i let go of the gas it semmed to be stuck openso i pulled over and shut the car offwhen i started it up again it started revving up and down and stalled when i put it into gear.So i got it home and cleaned out the throttle body and the idle actuator, did not help, then i changed the throttle body gaskt and that did not help either, a mechanic told me to next look at the intake gasket. any help would be appreciated

My wifes 1999 Sunfire has had problems cutting out and surging , spent 700.00 at local GM dealer still no results. I read somewhere on the web try to changing the Throttle Position Sensor. Changing the TPS has worked both times to fix the problem, for some reason the TPS failure will not send a code. We have had the car since 2000 and the chinging of the TPS has solved the problems bothy times. The TPS at NAPA in Canada is 74.00 in the US most likely cheaper, try this first based on my experience, GM will not help all they do is read codes.

The problems you are describing sound like a classic case of your fuel pump going out. If you replace the fuel pump You should solve your problem. I hope this helps you out.

2 Problems.Turn signal arm will not reset.Fuel gage is always on

there is a clicker thing that cuts the switch off when you turn the wheel it must be broken. Fuel gauge is controlled by the sending unit in the gas tank. thats a pain to replace, not to mention having to breathe gas fumes the whole time you do it. some cars you have to pull the tank and others you just have to take out the back seat and pull off a panel.

In park rpm goes from 1100 to 2000

Hondas will have a surging idle when way low on coolant. Maybe this is the whole problem. Check the heater hoses for a hole. (passenger side rear of engine.)
