Question about 1987 Oldsmobile Ciera
When you drive about 10 to 20 miles the car will cut off, you can let it set about 10 or so min. and it will start again drive some more and will go dead again.
Have replace the coil pack didn't help also replace the bubber boot at air censor didn't help.
I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the ignition coil. We replaced that and it has been running perfectly since!

Looks like you are having a battery problem, your battery is weak and not able to hold the cars charge. When u let the car sit the battery will lightly charge itself but once you turn it on and drive it begins to drive, the cars accesories will drain out the battery and the alternator will do its job by charging but the battery is just too weak or it could be the alternator not putting out enough amperage to charge the battery sufficiently, the alternator could be seizing on you when u are driving, stopping and rotating off and on, if thats the case then your car will shut off. I would do a load test on your battery then if that checks out ok then go for the alternator. The load testing tool can be purchased at any AutoZone or Lappens, Pep Boys etc..
