2003 Nissan Maxima. Problem just started on freeway this morning. Engine hesitates with loss of power four or five times. "Check Engine Soon" light blinks on dash. Codes P0306P/D(cylinder 6) and P0456 P/D show on analyzer. Car has 187,000 miles on it. Plugs have about 50,000 miles on them. Never had plug wires replaced. From front, which is cylinder 6?

Number 6 is in the front on the driver's side. I would swap the coil and wire with another to see if the problem moves with the coil. If yes, replace coil. If no, check plug and run a compression test (to check for burned valve or head gasket leak). Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I am a little confused. You say the #6 cylinder is in the front on the driver's side but the diagram shows #6 as being in the back on the driver's side.

Oops, sorry I didn't explain. The arrow in this diagram is pointing to the front of the engine, but the engine is sideways in your car, right?

2003 Nissan maxima flashing oil light when trying to turn wheel , loss of power slight rattling noise , rpm wont stay past idol without front on pedal really

Is the oil level and oil pressure ok, it sounds like you have no oil pressure, if it rattles it is to late you have damaged the engine bearings.

Has your Nissan sat for a period of time? If so, could be dirty gas...try adding 2 bottles of Heet gas line antifreeze and injection cleaner..also as this works, be sure not to let the gas level go below 1/4 tank...If needed check air filter dirty...throttle body dirty...Hope this helps.

Loss of compression in #5 cylinder on my 1990 nissan maxima

I would first be sure that you have spark to that cyllinder. Pull the wire off and stick an extra spark plug in the wire. Lay it on the engine block somewhere and atart the car to see if it's sparking. If it is, you have a valve or cam problem. If it isn't check the plug, the wire, distributer, coil pack etc.
