Question about 2000 Nissan Xterra
My air conditioning quit blowing cold air...it still blows air but hot air. The mechanic told me that the freon levels were fine but the computer was bad and that I needed to replace the computer for 1500.00. Does this make sense?
I changed the thermal control module in mine and it works like a charm. 40 dollar part

I'VE READ A LOT ABOUT THE THERMAL CONTROL AMPLIFIER/ IT'S BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX AND IS CHEAP PART AND EASY TO FIX BY YOURSELF. i THINK i'LL BE TRYING THAT ON MY 01 XTERRA.

I have the same problem (my AC just quit and now I bathe in my own sweat on my way to work)....the mechanincs at The Tire Choice in Aventura, Florida, state that fixing the problems requires changing two "A/C Relay Switches" for about $60 a pop...I will give that a try in lieu of the $1500 charge of changing the car's computer.
