Question about 1999 Saturn SL
I just bought a 1999 Saturn for my daughter. When you first start the car and drive about 3 to 8 mph, it makes a winding noise or what I call a "bolt rattling in a coffe can" It lasts for only a couple of seconds then stops. I took it back to the dealer I bought it front and they said it was the ABS/Traction control system initializating and this is normal. I want to make sure this is normal, or is something getting ready to go out.
I have the exact same car and it makes the exact same noise (though I've always called it "2 plastic cups banging against each other"). I was also told that it was the ABS/Traction control system and that it was a normal problem. I have had the car since it was new and it has always made this noise. There have been no apparent complications due to the noise or otherwise.
