If it's not along the frame rail of the van, it's in the fuel tank itself. This wasn't the best place to install the filter. Leave it to the genious in the engineering dept. at the factory.

How do you remove a fuel pump on a 97 plymouth grand voyager

    • 1 Make sure the engine is completely cool. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Elevate the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a jack.
    • 2 Disconnect the fuel line from the front of the tank. Remove the ground strap, the inboard side fuel tank straps and the front T-strap fastener, then lower the tank approximately six inches.
    • 3 Take the fuel lines from the fuel pump module. Plug the fuel lines with golf tees to prevent the spillage of gasoline. Remove the fuel filter.
    • 4 Install the new fuel filter. Set the bolts in place and torque them to 40 inch/pounds. Tighten the main tank straps to 40 foot/pounds and the T-strap to 250 inch lbs.
    • 5 Reconnect the fuel lines in the reverse order of their removal. Lower the vehicle. Connect the negative battery cable.
    • 6 Start the engine and let it run for several minutes. Inspect the fuel lines for any leaks.

Hi, I can,t seem to find a diagram of the fuel system to locate the fuel filter on my 96 plymouth grand voyager. I am not getting any fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Am i on the right track? Thank you ...

Zero fuel pressure means the pump is not functioning. Most likely the pump itself is bad. But first check all fuses, relays and wiring to the pump.

I would like a diagram of the location of fuel filter and fuel pump?

The fuel pump is inside the fuel tank, on the left side rear. The fuel filter is just in front of the fuel tank in the fuel line near the side frame.

I need to locate and replace the fuel pump for a 1994 Plymouth Voyager and cant seem to find a diagram of any sort. Where can I find it on the car itself?

The pump is inside the gas tank. You have to drop the tank, disconnect the fuel likes and electrical connector and then spin the metal ring on the top of the tank to release the pump. Once you have the old one out assembly is the reverse of the removal procedure.

On my 1994 plymouth voyager the 3 wire harness to fuel pump (blue wire) doesn't have 12 volts; should it? fuel pump quit then worked once when hot-wired with 12 volts. fuse and relay is good.

The wire should not be hot until the relay is triggered. The relay does not get triggered until the ignition key is turned on. It will run for 3-5 seconds or until the system pressure it at max.
