Question about 2003 Renault 181
Returned from holiday, battery flat, jump started car ,service and stop light came on,drove 5 miles, car won't start again.Fully charged battery, car won't start or won't jump start
If by "trying to start" you mean that the engine is turning then it isn't the starter that's bad as a couple have said. The starter's sole purpose is to spin the engine so it can start if, gas, spark, compression and timing are correct. If any one of those four are not available the starter can spin the engine until the battery dies and it won't start. If you don't know how to check for proper delivery of fuel, spark, timing and compression then I'd suggest taking it to a reliable mechanic.
