I have a 03 grand am and the last couple of days i would driving down the road and go to make a left hand turn and the car would shut off. I have changed the battery, alternator, fuel pump all this summer already. Had it towed to a garge and looked at and they said nothing was wrong with it. They ran a diagnostic test and came back fine. I picked the car up and the next day it happened again. Car will always start up right after it shuts off.

The pump should run quietly. Do you hear a load hum while driving? When it stalls, with the key on and everything quiet in the car you should hear a faint hum when you turn just the key on ( not cranking the engine over ) this last only a few seconds. If you hear that. The pump is working you might have another problem. Let me know

If you hear a clacking sound esp. while turning. Sound like your CV joints (constant velocity) or Front Wheel Drive axle.

sounds to me like you have a short in the ignition itself , it seems intermittent which would make me believe its the ignition

Generally three things can turn the light on. First is the sending unit itself if it's going bad. Next is an obstruction of the pump pickup screen (usually hard carbon deposits). Third is worn engine bearings (usually rod bearings). Best way to find the problem is to have someone put a mechanical pressure gauge on the engine and read the actual pressure. If it's low you need to go into the engine to determine why. if it's normal, replace the sending unit. Senders aren't terribly expensive and you could just buy one and replace the one you have, providing the engine isn't tapping or knocking.

sounds like it may be bad wheel hub bearing. wen going down road with no traffic steer left then right left right and see if noise gets louder and softer wen weight shifts from side to side. if it does u may need to get new hub bearings

go get a front end aliament done and that will solve the problem.

check the wires to the fuel pump if they have rubbed against something and the insulation wore through hitting bumps or rain could cause it to short and kick the relay and resets again and will start

sound like faulty fuel pump.also check the battery.if you have a maintance free battery check the green eye in it if its black battery is the problem.its shorting out plates in it.

• see if you can hear the fuel pump click over when you turn it to start position! this may be a fuel pump?

could be a tp sensor.
