Can't get battery light to go off 2007 Saturn aura xe alternator it's good starter is good new battery also check alternator fuse it's good what do to get this working correct

The battery light only comes on when there is a problem with the alternator or the charging circuit. Check all the wires, fusable links and connections. Also a good alternator test will put a large load on the alternator and read the diode tree.

My 1999 f250 wont charge, to date we have changed and tested the alternator (x4) the battery (x3) the under hood alternator plugs and the battery terminals. tested the wire between the alternator and

Let's start at the beginning.
When you turn the key on, you send 12 volts thru the charge light (if equipped) which triggers the alternator "on" and when the engine starts the alternator should generate enough voltage to reverse the direction of that circuit and turn the light off. If you have a volt gauge the effect is the same without having a warning light.
On some models the alternator gets its on signal from the engine computer instead of the instrument cluster.
If the alternator checks out ok on the test bench, but does not produce 13-14 volts on the truck, either the main power circuit is dead, or the alternator is not getting the "on" signal.
The three circuits involved are the large wire with a 175 amp mega fuse or fuseable link, a 20amp circuit going to the alternator, and a 10amp circuit to power the alternator "on".

My 06 Coblat LT wont start unless I jump it almost every time. Is this the alternator?

If it starts and stays running it's most likely the battery. However,With a voltmeter while the car is running measure the voltage at the battery terminals. If the voltage is about 13.5 volts to 14.5 and there is no battery light indicator on in your instrument panel, your alternator is most likely good and trying to charge the battery, If the battery light is on and you have lower than 13.0 volts at the battery most likely the alternator needs to be replaced. Turn the ignition off and measure the voltage again if it's 12 volts or less try charging the battery with a trickle charger (2 amps setting) for about 12 hours.if the problem persists replace the battery.

I have a 95 mazda B2300 4 cyl the battery light stays on my lights are dimeer then usual i had the alternator tested they said it was good what could the prob be

The battery light will only come on if the voltage supplied to the alternator is lower than the current battery voltage. It is either the alternator or instrument panel. I've never seen an instrument panel go bad on those. Look at the alternator, I've seen one with a motor mount that went bad and the alternator was laying on the frame grounding out the alternator.

I replaced the battery in my 01 volkswagon passat, it ran for a while then the engine slowly die, instrumental lights dim and the car cut off. It started again after a jukp but, continued the same process....

The alternator is shot, The car will run on a new battery for about 20 mins, then it fizzles out. The alternator contains the regulator, You can take it and get it checked, but I'm sure that is the problem, get your battery charged up while you do the alternator, and keep an eye on the charge light. Make sure it is charging, just because it is new doesn't mean it is good. Hope this helps.

1986 chevy c-20 diesel, dual batteries - erratic charging

What place verified the alternator for you?
If its a place like Autozone, all they can do is a normal running check of it,They cannot put a load on it to see how much it can put out.It really sounds like the voltage regulator is not changing, maybe one of the diodes are bad in the alternator.

Instrument panel went dead

Checked Every fuse in the fuse box (no small task). This includes #4 - Power point Instrument Panel, #14 - Day time running lamps (auto lamps doesn't work nor does auto lock), #27 - ignition switch run feed, #35 - Instrument Cluster, #41 - Instrument Cluster, #42 - Delayed Accessory, #45 - Ignition switch run/start feed, #102 - Door locks body security module, #103 - Ignition switch, #110 - Ignition switch, & #116 - Ignition switch. But I also check all other ones as well, they all register OK. AC panel & radio work. Turn signals work. Mileage does not work, trip computer does. So, basically, everything works except auto head-lights, auto locks, and the dash cluster (no MPH, RPM, mileage display, Fuel, Temp, Tran Temp, and Oil Pressure).

Electrical/Battery Light

Hi,I am Ron,Look at the alternator out put voltage, and have the battery load tested. Also check bad connection from battery to alternator(this is the large wire/cable).alternator turns the battery light on,why? You need to figure out witch one.A diode could be going out in the alternator, diodes change ac voltage to dc voltage ,that`s why the call it a alternator(alternating current)AC voltage means alternating current. If it goes unrepaired it can ruin battery, changing battery voltage from 12 volts dc to 12 volts ac.Also there is a built in voltage regulator that holds voltage down to about 14 volts charging while car is running.Voltage regulators can cut off charging completley or open wide allowing alternator to charge as much as 18 volts dc,ruining battery(boiling battery acid out of battery)and ruining alternator by burning fields and rectifiers out.So have it checked or do it your self.Auto parts stores can check alternator and battery. If I can be of more help, please

Battery light is on

the Alternator (this keeps the battery charged) is not charging the battery, the lights dim due to the battery voltage dropping low, go to any Kragen or Autozone and have the battery and the Alternator/generator tested, it is free.

1995 Toyota V6 Battery light on instrument cluster stays on

The battery light comes on if the battery voltage is too low. Check you battery voltage. It should be above 12V with the engine running. If not, the alternator is not working. Next, check if there is power on the FIELD terminal of the alternator. Again, you should have 12+V. Check if the Alternator fuse is blown.
