How do i change my oil in the jetta 2004 2.0?
Add an engine cleaning treatment to the oil fill plug, run the car for 10 mins to slightly heat the oil, raise the front of the car, put it on axle stands, get under the car & locate the oil sump drain plug, place a suitable container under the sump to catch the oil, remove the drain plug, let ALL of the oil run out of the sump until just drips are coming out very slowly, like 1 per 2 or 3 seconds, replace the sump drain plug & new copper washer if required, next remove the oil filter, if it is too hard to turn with a suitable wrench then jus stab it with a screwdriver & use this as leverage, replace with a new oil filter, add about a quarter of the filters volume to the new filter before fitting it & also rub some oil around the O ring seal, tighten the new oil filter by hand, until its just tight enough to complete a seal around its housing, jack up the vehicle, remove the axle stands, lower the vehicle, & fill up with your chosen oil, job done, have a beer & congratulate yourself on a job well done that has saved you a pretty penny .
Thank you very much for the invo the old work horse as now done over 350,000 K.M
