74 cadillac eldorado. no fire to distributer. we have the car setting around farm. it was running several months ago. today i went out to start it and there is no fire getting to distributor. it won't start.

Check your battery cable connections at the battery as well as the engine block. On the block remove and clean ground real good.

cpu was recalled in 97 you should contact cadillac to make sure it was replaced along with the fuel rail and all other tech bullitins some 15 pages of them

Had same problem on my 94 eldorado touring and it turned out I had bad ign coil. This sets a 41 code. Check codes for no cam ref signal. Sounds stupid but if one coil stops firing on only one cyl it sets that code. There are 4 coils and they run 2 of one end of ign module and two of other end.

I suggest you use GM Tech2 diagnostic scanner
check your car and clear fault code.

Did you check the condition of the positive cable or the large red power cable going down to the starter solenoid, and do you have 12 volts at the solenoid when you turn the key to the start position, this will be the small wire and terminal on the starter solenoid, if this has all been checked I would test the starter solenoid itself next. If you are not getting 12 volts when turning the key to the start position, you should double check fuses, and then possibly the ignition switch. yes it could and if there is little gas in the tank then gas might not be getting to the fuel pump

I had the same problem with my 1995 Eldorado. What I found was a fuel leak sourced at the fuel rail (some kind of plastic tubing) above the engine. I found out that there was a recall for this fuel rail. The dealer replaced it for free with stainless steal. It's lucky my car didn't burn to the ground.
Last week there was a house that caught fire here in Portland. The fire started in a carport. Guess what kind of car was sitting in the carport. Guess where the firefighters believe the fire started. The answers, a Cadillac Eldorado and in the engine compartment of the car.
