Note !!! This rotor goes counter clockwise meaning

3 1
4 2

will be the connectors on the distributer as you look at them. My old distributor had these printed right on it. Cylinder 1 being on the passenger side of the car.

What is wrong with my 2000 Kia Sportage when I put it in first it jumps almost like something is cloged ,other gears are fine and happens some times

Many things can cause this inside the transmission. You need to have it diagnosed. The longer you drive it, the worse it will get. And cost more to repair.

I have a timing gear upper seal blown, i need to replace myself

lined up all the timing marks before you do anything. get a new timing belt as the old one is contaminated with oil and will fail very soon. When you pull the belt off it will be of utmost importance that you do not rotate the cam shaft at all or you will bend valves. so use something to lock the cam gear while you undo and nuts on the shaft or while removing the gear

Timing beelt broken while driving 2002 Kia sportage. Do I need to make sure Cylinder #1 is up top?

Cylinder one would probably be at TDC when you get the marks on the gears lined up.

2002 kia sportage fuel pump needed replacing so we did and now car won't go

There maybe an air lock in the fuel line.
Try pouring a little fuel down the carby and then start the engine, you may need to do this a few times until the air lock is cleared.

My 1998 KIA Sportage backfires a little and doesn't have any power off the line. When I get up to speed and while idling it runs fine. The engine light is on and the code indicates that the number 4...

This could be a valve timing issue. I had a 98 Sportage with similar problems, the root cause was the lower timing gear (on the front of the crankshaft) was actually loose and had worn the slot in the crankshaft and the small key that holds the gear in place. This allows the gear to drift back and forth on the crankshaft, altering valve timing and power. There is a "poor mans fix" here
Note, this is a Mazda Miata forum, so values and pictures will not be exact, but the idea is the same and worked for me.
The "hold" light on the dash is from the button on the side of the gear select lever being depressed, it holds the transmission in gear. If that is not the case, that circuit may need to be diagnosed.
