Question about 1994 Nissan Quest

Loss of power and misfires

My Nissan quest van misfires and exhibits loss of power like its running out of fuel. The mechanic working on it has changed the fuel filer, air filter checked ignition system and fuel pressure. Nothing has changed. It still exhibits the same symptoms.

I'm having the same problem.I have checked the same things you have and replaced air and fuel filters. Next I was going to check to see if there is another fuel filter, maybe along the inside of the frame rail, or hidden some where else? Also I thought the catalytic converter might be stopped up. i duno. Any ideas please tell.

It sounds like the catalytic converter. I had the same problem. What to check....after driving for a couple of miles pull over and look underneath at the converter, if it is glowing there is your trouble.

Follow your fuel lines from the the engine back to the tank. They usually run right along the frame.Check for your filter along the lines you will see a filter in there somewhere.

Fixing code p0300

code p0300 refers to random/multiple misfires detected===causes --spark plugs-- HT leads --injectors --coils--low compression--- ECM
While it is common to jump on the plugs ht leads band wagon it is also very possible that the injectors are not working properly because of insufficient fuel pressure . Have a fuel manifold pressure test done to check pump/regulator / filter problems first

Nissan quest does not run more than 40mph

if it was the timing belt the engine would not be running
take it to an accredited service shop or auto zone or the like and have the fault codes read
from your description it sounds like it is in limp mode and you will need to find what sensor/s have placed the engine /transmission in that mode to protect the units
I would be taking it some else as a an accredited would have run the fault codes first and then advised you what the problem was.

1996 nissan quest runs good for the first 15-20 min

it does sound like a fuel pump, i am not 100 percent on that ,
as annoying as it is, u might have to start eliminating possible causes. also try checking your fuel pump relay fuse etc. another possibility check your fuel lines could be a blockage. fingers crossed
