Generally speaking, you don't. Only trucks give you the option of turning off the passenger side airbag in the event you are hauling a child car seat. You could unplug the air bag, but then the entire system would be disabled.
Use a flex head ratchet wrench to remove the seat, or temporary battery to power the seat, non power seat will fit but disabling you side air bag will shut down the whole SRS, and no air bags will work, this is against the law in some states
Pull your airbag fuse out (It might be labeled Airbag, or SRS)
This will have your airbag warning light stay on in your dash, until you put the fuse back in.
WARNING : I did NOT tell you that... Don't worry there is no way the air bags can go off just by removing or replacing the fuse, but I'm just covering my bases here. In the event of an accident, I don't want to be the guy that told you to pull the fuse out (this disables both air bags), if you do pull the fuse you are responsible for that action if, god forbid, something happens.
