Question about 1999 GMC Sierra
I have a 1999 gmc Sierra that has no power. The truck starts and idles fine. When put in drive and then push the gas it falls on its face...When truck is in park you can slowly creep up on the throttle and get the rpms way up. If you mat the gas while it is in park and hold it to the floor the truck keeps the same idle and then slowly starts to lose rpms and a few seconds into it you can here it lightly backfire. Hope someone can help! Thanks!
Sounds like the fuel supply is inadequate. Check for a plugged fuel filter, or possibly the fuel pump is losing pressure. I had a 93 Chevy V6 that acted the same way, and after checking everything else I replaced the fuel pump, which solved the problem.
