Engine shut off after start with remote key

The car has to be locked down in order for the starter to function properly. Doors must be locked and the hood closed. The hood pin switch often gets corroded and has to be cleaned or replaced.

I have a 2001 Hyundai Sonata. When I lock the doors using the remote the lights blink but the horn does not beep. Is this a programming issue or is there something I can do to make it beep when I lock it...

Usually the HOOD SWITCH is the culprit. Check the hood for the hood switch button/depressor to be sure it's depressing the switch fully. If the hood is not properly adjusted, it can create this problem. Go to www.hmaservice.com and register your vehicle by VIN #.. you'll then have access to wiring diagrams, shop manuals, service bulletins, illustrations, etc.

My trunk no longer shuts on my 97 seville, any suggestions

Assuming no accident damage check the catch itself in the trunk lid, using a screw driver try to toggle the lasch, it should be rfee but has a strong spring to pop the lid up when opened, also try spraying some penetrating oil as likely it has become sticky with age and water.

I need to be walked through installing a Bulldog self learning anti theft bypass module 791 on 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 HD SLE. Thanks!

Here have information about #791 bypass module: Bulldogsecurity Model791

IF YOUR REMOTE STARTER IS CLICKING AND/OR FLASHING THE PARKING LIGHTS AND IS NOT RESPONDING TO THE REMOTE, IT IS IN SAFE MODE AND NEEDS TO BE INITIALIZED BY DOING THE FOLLOWING:
If you have a 4 button remote, you must ground the black/blue hood pin wire (raise hood if hood switch is installed). Apply 12volts to blue/black brake wire (press and hold brake pedal if wire is installed). Press and hold any button on your remote until clicking and flashing stops. Unit will now respond to the remote. Remove ground from hood pin wire and voltage from brake wire. If you have a 2 button remote, hold brake and press any button on the remote until clicking and flashing stops.

ADDENDUM
If you have an RS1100 or RS1200 and your vehicle runs for several seconds, shuts off, restarts, runs, and shuts off again, perform the following step: Connect the Black/White tach wire (from the 16 pin plug) to the heavy gauge White Ignition 1 wire and program the unit for Tach Mode (bottom of page 19).

Streetka car alarm

Hi Sophie Probably just the hood store lid.
Unlock the hood. Pull up the rear screen and open the hood store lid. Slam the hood store lid shut making that the locks on BOTH sides are holding it down and then replace the hood. The alarm will not set correctly unless both the locks are in position. Adrian

Door lock dont work and remote lock does

Look under the Hood and Locate the Fuse Relay Box. Should be on the Drivers side torwards the Firewall. There is a Relay in it for the Door Locks. Replace this Relay and see if they will not work. Also check the Fuses in BOTH Boxes inside and under Hood with a Flashlight and Make for Sure that no Fuses are Blown. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Remote starter

The wire under the hood is for the hood pin switch, this wire when grounded will prevent the remote starter from starting, for trouble shooting I would leave this unhooked and make sure it is not touching any metal, also try to remote start your car with the key in the ignition swich if it remote starts you have a transponder issue if not post me and we can go from there
