You could have a faulty engine coolant sensor or intake air temperature sensor. Fuel injectors clogged or dirty flooding engine. Clean fuel injectors, replace fuel filter and air filter, and see if the problem persists. If it does ECT sensor is bad. If CMP sensor was bad, the vehicle won\'t start whether cold or hot. CKP senso and CMP sensor work together if either one fails, the vehicle won\'t start. Have the vehicle code scanned.
Try changing the fuel filter. Chances are when it ran out of gas it sucked all the old gunk and stuff into the lines. If that doesn"t work you may have to take it to a professional to have the gunk sucked out. Also after you change the filter dump some fuel injector cleaner into the tank that should clean up any remaining residue.
Hello: WHEN IT DOESN'T START THAT IS THE TIME YOU NEED TO DIAGNOISE THE PROBLEM. A INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE NEEDS THREE THINGS TO RUN- AIR, FUEL AND SPARK. CHECK FUEL PRESSURE. CHECK FOR SPARK TO THE SPARKPLUGS. IT COULD BE THE ENGINE COMPUTER , THE IGNITION MODULE. IT COULD BE THE CRANK SENSOR. WITHOUT HANDS ON DIAGNOSIS I WOULD BE GUESSING.
Before you go any further wait till it stops again then check for a spark and if a spark then fuel ,then i might have a better idea ,keep reply on E mail and feel free to ask again anytime allowing for time zone difference
Check to see if you have spark, if you do, and still it does not start, then you may think that fuel is not getting to it. At this point, use some starting fluid and spray it at the throttle opening. That should start it for a few seconds and give you the answer. Joe.
are you getting continuous spark? bad electronic module? check spark first. should be continuous. do you have oil pressure...some vehicles won't run if oil pressure is not there.
