Question about 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer

1 Answer

Operating lancer automatic transmission

Dear ollieboy. the transmission was brand new but indeed i noticed last month there was a leak but i had it checked. the mechanic said the oil seal was loose and so he had it repaired. a while ago, i pressed a button which says "PWR/ECO" and shifted it to "PWR". It worked but i am still worried it may have trouble again if i go out tonight. i am a woman who doesnt have enough knowledge on car maintenance. what do you think should i tell the mechnic for a specific repair? thank you so much.

Well if you had this unit replaced as a new unit there should be a warranty with it i would be hightailing it back to where you had it installed. have you noticed a leak since the repair? as a new unit this should have not developed a leak after 8 months of use unless you do outrageous milage in the car. if you take it back then get it checked for leaks and get the fluid level checked. would also pay to let the mechanic go for a drive in it with you so you can show him the problem. I would not trust this car out at night until you get it checked out. let me know what you come up with. i online for the next 30 min

Had replaced plates and lining of the automatic transmission of lancer glxi '95,yet after putting it back, reverse gear not working. does it something to do with the torque converter or still with the...

Most likely the transmission. Could be in the valve body or it may be the reverse clutch piston seal (if it is a separate unit) and lastly it may be something stuck in the fluid passages in the transmission body.

Operating lancer automatic transmission

Have you Had the transmission fluid checked? It sounds as if the transmission is slipping in these gears which would point to a fault within the bands. To have a problem like this repaired could cost as little as $200 or as much as $1700 depending on how much needs to be done. Was the replacement a second hand transmission? If yes then did you have a warranty period with it? Let me know and I will get back to you as i am about to seek out a manual for this.

Cheers
