Question about 1997 Volkswagen Jetta

Air Conditioner My air conditioner currently isn't working. My compressor works and so does the fan. I went i turn on the air conditioner i get no cold air. So, I bought a recharge kit and wanted to try that, but I'm not sure how to do this. I was wondering if you had and tips or tricks or point me in the right direction. I was told if its not done right you can do more harm than good. Should I have a garage preform this?

Same here, but I have recharged it following the instructions in my manual and still have no cold air. The compressor switches on and drags down the engine, and water condensation drips down from my car. Something is surely getting cold, but I have no idea why it is not my air. I messed with the environmental controls on the dash and restarted my car several times to no success.

Is it possible that you need to hard reset the car (disconnect then reconnect the battery) ?? This angers the security system, but I had to do that when I fixed the driver's side locking mechanism.

You should take it to the garage and to ask them to check if your air point(in the engine) connected properly-in most cases that appear to be the problem

I have ford mustang 1999 when i start my car and

there will be a cooling fan in front of the condenser ( ac unit in front of the radiator) that should be running as soon as you turn the ac on. If that is not working then the head pressures for the compressor become excessive and to save the compressor from damage it is shut of at the clutch at the pulley. When you are moving there is air flow through the condenser and so the head pressures are maintained at the correct level. Have it checked out by an accredited auto ac specialist . If you have a viscous fan hub on the engine fan the consider replacing it as it is not pulling air through the radiator when idling

I have a 1993 Chevy S-10 4.3L automatic. The heat won't shut off. It pours out regardless of the position of the climate controls. Coolant level and condition good. AC would work but. Thanks.

The heater works but when the defrosters are

The Air conditioner compressor is seizing when the compressor clutch trys to engage. When you put on the defroster the air conditioner automatically comes on to take humidity out of air.

AIR CONDITIONER QUIT WORKING

Pop the hood, start the vehicle and turn the AC on. Watch the compressor, it should have a center that rotates on an off and you should hear a clicking sound. This is the compressor clutch you are looking at. If the compressor is not doing this, check the fuses for the AC. If the fuses are good, then most likely the high side sensor switch is not working, therefore the clutch never engages and the air never gets cold.

Try that and get back to me, ok?

Check the gas pressure, if it low it inhibits the relay that energises the compressor.

1988 nissan sentra air conditioner no power

Not all switches switch the possitive side of the electrical cicuit, sometimes it switches the negative side and than you wont find current there. The airconditioner unit has a low pressure switch in the system somewhere in the pipe that monitors the amount of gas in the system and if the gas is not enough the switch will not allow current to flow through to the compressor, it is just to protect the compressor from siezing up if there is no lubricant in the system

Air conditioner compressor clutch went out twice

The air conditioner turns on even when you don't use it. Like anytime you have your defrost on, it helps dry the air inside of your vehcile. So by letting the leak continue the clutch turns on then off on then off over and over instead of just kicking in and staying on. Yes, if you don not fix the problem it will continue. I wish I had better news for you.

AIR DOES NOT WORK DO I JUST NEED FREEON

If the air conditioner blow warm air,

1. Open the hood and check the fan belt first, sometime the fan belt broke caused the compressor stop to work, if the fan belt is good, check the compressor see if the center part turns, if turns, that means the compressor is o.k.

2. If both work fine, check the air conditioner small window see if there is bubble, if you see some bubbles in the small round window, that’s means your air conditioner lack
R-22 Freon.

3. before you fill up the Freon, check the leaking, if leaks, fix it and then fill up the Freon, the best way is to ask some professional auto air conditioner repair shop to help you.

Hope this can help you.
