Open the surge tank cap and pour the coolant in. At the top of the therm. housing, you'll see a bleeder valve. Start and run the car, make sure the surge tank is full, and crack the bleeder valve until you see a steady stream of coolant come out.

Where is the coolant resivor to fill in a Nissan ultima 2002

open the hood look on the passenger side behind the headlight . check your owners manual for the correct coolant type for you vehicle don't just put water in it . that could mess up the coolant that's already in there . most vehicles from 2000 and up use 100k coolant in them now if water or 50/50 mix is put in the coolant just became 3 year 30k coolant and can mess up your coolant system warranty . WHAT YOU MIGHT DO IS TAKE IT TO THE DEALER SHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE THEY WILL CHECK ALL YOUR CARS LEVELS AND LET YOU KNOW IF ANYTHING NEDS TO BE DONE THEY SHOULD PUT ANY COOLANT IN THE YOUR CAR IF NEEDED.

How do i put water in my radiator?

you need to replace thermostat and radiator cap.look under hood around engine compartment.look for a radiator cap near radiator, add 50/50 antifreeze and water to coolant system to bring up boiling point.pure water will cause engine run hotter because water evaporate away, remove radiator pour coolant in the radiator until coolant stop dropping in the radiator now some vechicle pour coolant in the coolant overflow jug, pour coolant until coolant level stop dropping and the coolant level stay at cold full mark.start engie let idle few minutes, watch coolant level in radiator if coolant start dropping add more coolant, when coolant level stop dropping put radiator cap back on let engine idle until both top radaitor hose and bottom coolant hose get warm turn off engine wait until it get cool then take a large rag slightly open radiator just a litle at a time to keep from getting scaled.once radiator remove add more coolant if low,put radiator cap back on start the engine let it idle watch the temp gauge if temperature gauge going hot zone stop engine wait until cool then add more coolant, keep doing this until engine stop overheating going into hot zone and coolant level stop dropping, make the coolant overflow jug coolant level stay at full cold mark, dont let jug run empty if so air will get in the coolant system causing engine to overheat.

I need to know where you put the antifreeze and water.. and how much of each to put.

In the Radiator. Most coolant you mix 50% WATER/ 50% COOLANT. Dont use universal coolant, you want the green coolant.

How do i put water for the radiator?

Does your car have a cap or a sealed unit? You don't want a sealed unit. You want to be able to check your water.Push down and Twist the cap off when cold, not hot, fill it up with coolant, 50/50 mix, and fill up the expansion tank. It says coolant on it. The car will balance itself out. Check the water in your battery while you are at it. It dries out too. Then check the brake fluid, power steering fluid, and oil. That should keep you busy next Saturday. Hope this helps.

What type of coolant to put in

50/50 antifreeze and water. pontiac or GM recommends the use of Dex cool antifreeze but it really doesnt matter. You have to check the color of the coolant orange you need to use extended life, if its green just use regular 50/50

It says on top of the motor "Notice there is a special coolant to put in this car." What do i put in it and where? In the radiator or in the coolant jug?

It probably requires dexron which is different than regular antifreeze. Most cars now are filled by putting it in the coolant tank/jug. If you see a hot and cold indicator on the tank put it in the tank.

Where do you put engine coolant? I think mechanic

If the car is overheating it is not just cause the coolant is low. There is a leak somewhere in the system this must be fixed first.

I would check for a leak or crack. My vehicle did the same thing and I turn off the car filled it with coolant and it was fine after that. However if your putting coolant and it still giving you the same message then check for cracks or leaks. If that does not work I recommend you find yourself a trust worthy mechanic. I would say that every Volvo owner should visit the dealership at least once a year for a full complete diagnostic of there car.

Our 1996 Pontiac Grand am was over heating today, I put coolant in the reserve, but I can't find the place to put the water in the radiator? Does it have one? Or do you just keep running the coolant in the...

this is a closed system. The coolant has to be put into the reservoir. However, I suggest that you have the system pressure tested and check your oil to see if you have any coolant in it. If the oil looks like chocolate milk then you might have a bad intake gasket or head gasket.
