Question about 2002 Ford SVT Focus
The engine management light has come on,car has lost power and is using loads of petrol
Sounds like the computer engine management has gone to bypass/limp mode (i.e.: it isn't doing anything other than providing the very basics for the engine to run [poorly!]).
You need to have the car scanned to determine which trouble code(s) have been set and hopefully point you in the direction of the cause.
The good news is that some of the larger auto parts suppliers now offer free diagnostic scanning, so get on the telephone and try and locate one of these, get it scanned, and go from there.
