My wife's 2001 pontiac aztek just started to do what you were talking about. She'll be driving down the road then all of the sudden the lights turn off and come back on a little later along with the radio and the instrument lights, gear shifter lights and window and door lock lights. Any info what can fix this problem?

We have the same problem, driving down the road and the lights go off or flash on and off , the windows and dorrs lock, and it will read "Locked" on the radio display. We have discovered that if we turn the light switch from auto to manual, that alleviates the headlight issue, but it's like the display is possessed. What causes this?

When i start the car the instrument panel does no wotk

Instrument cluster is probably bad, if you are speaking about the gauges that are located above your steering wheel. If you are taking about the lights that illuminate your gauges it could be a bad switch that dims and brightens.

WHY is MY INSTUMENT panel not working?

Try slapping your hand on the dash above the instrument cluster a couple of times to see if it comes back. If not, there may be a fuse that you have overlooked

you may want to trace the fuse for the instrument panel check the voltage on it ,take juice from some other fuse and help it ,for more options you may want to trace both ground and power to the back of the instrument cluster,if fuse has no power relay or bad wire may be the fault

I need to change the bulb in the analog clock in my 1999 Lincoln Towncar. How do I go about getting to it without tearing apart the dashboard?

you need a special tool to get the radio out. It has pins that spread out spring clips so the radio can pull out.

please rate as solved if this helps.

95 saab 900 turb0 gauge cluster works intermetanly

I have this problem too and my new Saab mechanic told me that I would probably need a new instrument cluster. He said a brand new one costs $2500 but that he would order me a used one from a car that had fewer miles than mine as you can set them back but not forward. He both diagnosed and temporarily "fixed" the problem by slamming his hand really hard on the dash over the panel and all the lights and gauges immediately started working fine....for now. I haven't had the work done yet (I have a 1998 Saab 900S with 130K) so if anyone has any other ideas about this I would love to know what they are. This issue with the gauges and dash lights has been happening on and off for over a YEAR and this is the first time someone has had any idea what it is. I already had my ignition switched replaced so we know that's not what it was. THANKS

Instument Guages

well the issue is youe enitre gauge cluster i do understand that your speedometer is working but it is a cable speedometer not electronic like everything else in the gauge cluster so first i would recomend checking the voltage getting to your gauge cluster then just replace the guagecluster they are really cheap i a salvage and not hard to install at all but the cluster itself is not very comon to go out so make sure you check voltage to it first i wouldnt want you to go through buying and replaceing the cluster and that not fix it
