Question about 2001 Mercury Villager

1 Answer

Air conditioner My A/C was working last Summer but isn't this year. The light labeled A/C used to light up when pushed but doesn't now. I purchased one of those gages that shows the gas is full, the pressure is in at the right level and I checked the fuse for the A/C but there is still no cold air. What should I do?

2003 Mitsubishi Lancer started to leak water on passenger side under dash.

I am guessing that this occurs after you hae been running the Air conditioner and is COLD water. I ran into the same problem and found that the drain line from the Air conditioner pan was clogged.

If I remember correctly, the drain line comes through the Firewall on the drivers side. I was able to push a small piece of tubing back through the line and loosen the clog. A bunch of junk came out and I have driven last summer and so far this year with no more problems,.

My 1998 Ford anger xlt has a fuse problem...Air conditioner doesn't work and cigerette lighter doesn't work. Are they on the same circuit? I don't have an owners manual. Thanks

Not sure what you mean when you say an air conditioner problem like if the compressor clutch isn't engaging or the blower motor isn't working, that kind of thing. Anyhow, I am about 99 percent sure they are not in any case. What I did do for you is give you pictures of the fuse layouts as well as the descriptions for each fuse (see below). You mentioned that you didn't have an owners manual. If you would like a copy, email me at with your make, model and year and I will be happy to email you a copy. Don't worry, there is no cost for it. I hope this helps and good luck.

Lost drive belt, if that's what it's called on Ford Futura year 2000. Hence no power steering, overheating problems, air conditioner problems, etc. If I purchase a new belt, how difficult are they to fit...

There should be a routing label for the belt on the car. Look under the hood or the metal where the radiator is mounted.

The tension pulley has a square hole or square molded fitting for a breaker bar or wrench. You can use that feature or use a trick I learned. The trick I learned works well if the tensioner is easy to get to. There is no rule that the belt has to slip over the tensioner pulley last. Just have the belt positioned to go over the Alternator, press down on the belt and tensioner with the palm of your hand and push until there is slack in the belt.

Then use your other hand and slip the belt over the Alternator and release pressure off the tensioner pulley and you are done. No tools needed.

I have a 2008 mpdel VW Touran car. Last week The air conditioner becomes out of order. I went to the service repair shop. They inspect my car and said that your car?s air conditioner is out of order. The...

please be more specific here ,is it because its low on gas ,these VWs do not go wrong they are vurs sprung durch technic whatever that means on the advert but they are good cars and i think you are being led a dance by the dealer ,Now on all vehicles using R134 gas they tend to loose a bit of gas after a couple of years as this gas is corrosive to the seals ,now i expect to regas a vehicle every 2/3 years and every year when its older so take it to a back street professional cowboy and get them to add a tin of leak stopper 18euros and regas the system with 700grms of gas cost for gas alone about 17 euros as this gas has shot up in price big time ,plus the labour charge and i will lay you a pound to penny it will work ,these jumped up receptionists in these dealers who think they know it all bug me big time ,anyway their is my opinion for what its worth which is nothing no doubt but i bet it works afterwards and please tell the backstreet garage there is this englishman who bets hes a bigger bodge artist than them and proud of the reputation

Love mine too. I had the same prob with the a/c...found a fix online where you take the switch panel out, take it apart, clean the contacts with alcohol and then write on them with a #2 pencil (coat them with the lead) and then reassemble and it worked like a charm for me. Mine started to do it again this year, but it at the end of summer and I didn't get around to doing it again, but will before I need the a/c again. And time again for front brakes and rotors for me! 85k and going strong!
